Destructoid's Jim Sterling also had very positive things to say in his Unit 13 preview piece.
Frankfurt, disagree for same reason as thedude44. hellraiser the fact that you dont know why people disagreed tells more about YOU than you care to know
Considering you have to play through the single player and beat challenges on high difficulties to unlock mp content, the scoring may be justified.
Dude, the knocks are on the single player, not multiplayer. Calm down.
@Raiden, "Remedy could have honed the style a bit more to make it work rather than pander to the masses."
Alan Wake was a great game as is but sold poorly, now I don't think they have any other choice than to "cater to the masses" if they want decent sales.
IW (Respawn) were a one-hit wonder that never produced anything else of merit. They also had horrible after launch support for all the glitches that were and still are in COD4.
After the vita, memory card, taxes, warranty and games, you're looking at a minimum $350 usd. If that's all you make, you must still live at home, because that wage isn't enough to live on your own.
I don't have people to support me and I also don't have the highest paying job either. I have to budget my money and spend wisely. A $350 expenditure when I already have a ps3 to play games isn't in my budget, as well as many others. Spending money for...
"that's the US gaming media for ya"
Umm, no. It's a Philippino site, feel stupid now?
No to DICE, they have such a terrible history of releasing buggy, laggy, unfinished games. It usually takes upwards of 6 months of patches after release before the game becomes how it should have been. And that engine (FB2), not optimized at all for consoles. Too much contrast.
And expensive, which is why it's "wished" for instead of bought.
A horde mode would definitely be preferred over a 6v6 tdm.
You do realize many "grownups" have dedicated movie rooms and don't care for a pc in it for various reasons. A ps3 fits much better in a movie room than a pc. If you're talking about a bedroom, that's different.
@Gaming101, I know right. You'd think that in this day and age of gaming allowing the gamer to customize the button configuration would be a standard feature. Something so small, but often times so necessary.
"patches take way to long to hit the ps3."
The thing is, we don't know what the approval process entails. So to say it "takes way too long" isn't fair.
@ enkeixpress, once upon a time Apple didn't make phones either, now they have the #1 selling phones. Apple is only after 1 thing and 1 thing only, our money. If they see there can be profit to be had they'll do it. Especially now the Steve Jobs is gone they might try to go in new directions. Don't underestimate Apple, they have the resources to do a lot. And it wouldn't be just a game console imo, it would probably be a media hub as well.
1. Last time I checked dlc is optional, if you don't want it it won't affect the game you paid for.
2. ". It's only the honest consumer who gets hurt by it,"
Seriously?!? It's a freakin game, if you get hurt by a game you got bigger problems than timed dlc.
@STONEY4, just look at the stats of people playing BF3 online during peak hours. That should give you a clue as to which platform sold most. Most of the time it's about the same.
Is the PS2 finally being phased out? Numbers are dropping every week. Oh well, it was a damn fine run.
Was with you until you complained about weapon unbalance. This is one of the biggest gripes I have about online communities. The weapons in game should be unbalanced, you know why? Because in real life they ARE unbalanced! Why should a FAL not be better than an AK? Why should a .50 BMG not be more powerful than a .223? I want weapons that are similar in destruction to their real life counterparts, not 30 different weapon skins with the same damage.
The game direction is unfortunate. If they could have gotten a dev like Bethesda on board and go full open world with co-op it would have been 100% win.
