I think this is one of the reasons Sony does so well. They don't just focus on shooters...they have a very diverse line up of games...and the more diverse your selection of games, the more people you appeal to...the more people you appeal to, the larger your base of potential customers.
It's no mistake that the PS4 has EIGHTY EIGHT (and counting) titles available to play, while the Xbox One only has 43!
I don't see it happening. First of all, Sony's full on exclusives may be on the weak side, but so are Microsoft's.
Sunset Overhype...decent enough looking game, but it's a new IP. Only those following game news even know what it is...it's NOT going to move hardware.
Forza? Again, good game, again, not going to move hardware.
Halo? Ok, this is MS's "Big gun" this year...except Halo fans ALREADY OWN an Xbox...
Yeah, I mean really. Who shops based on performance any more? Seriously...when you are shopping for, say, a car...do you REALLY pay attention to horsepower? Or do you, like everyone else, pick a brand based on the marketing?
It's ridiculous in this day and age that some so-called journalists are unfairly picking on Microsoft just because they can't play games in "Full HD"! I mean, 720p was good enough 5 years ago on TVs, wasn't it? Isn't it just...
You haven't seen it being hyped? There are something like 4-5 articles a DAY here that reference it! Yeah, I am biased against Microsoft, I make no bones about that...I wholeheartedly reject their "vision" for console gaming and their overpriced, underperforming product.
That said....Sunset OverDRIVE looks like a decent enough game...but I will bet money that it doesn't get a metacritic rating over 65 and that it doesn't move the needle on hardware sal...
I'm not saying it won't have it's fans...its obvious that there is a small diehard contingent of them that loved the original Xbox game...but I am saying that this title won't move hardware.
The problem here is one of trust. Microsoft violated ALL gamers trust with the announcements that they later had to retract. Pushing a "Vision" upon us, whether we want it or not, is NOT a way to win loyal customers...it just pisses us off! See also "Metro", Windows 8, Windows Phone, Surface.
Microsoft got cocky. They saw that they could profit from people using their game consoles as media streamers for Netflix, Hulu, and others...emboldened by this, ...
Huh, I checked last night on both the PS4s and PS3s PSN Store and didn't see it at all...I will have to go check again on PC...
Sunset Overhype? Again? Man, they REALLY want this game to fly, don't they?
Most of the games on this list aren't anywhere near being close to release. Crackdown and Phantom Dust probably won't even be released until 2016. Lean selection for Xbox owners.
Personally, I prefer the option to "purchase" titles and have them available forever than rental options. I am hoping that they will have some plan that doesn't require me to open my wallet every time I open the app!
At least one more exclusive for Sony! I can't wait to see what they have coming!
We still have more Sony exclusives than have been talked about yet...probably 3-4 more for this year. Just wait until after the other games shows this year! MS shot their entire wad at E3...Sony still has more stuff up their sleeves!
He even took to using Sony's catchphrase during E3! "The best place to play"! Had me chuckling when I heard that.
Yup, Sony and Nintendo ARE raising the bar...and Microsoft keeps lowering it.
I don't know about everyone else here...but I really don't have loyalty to any one company. I go with whoever is making the best product. This generation, that's Sony.
I also will reject marketing BS and PR spin from a company trying to hide their weaknesses, and who try to convince the uneducated that their product is "superior" when it clearly is not. I reject being told to #DEALWITHIT. I reject the very idea of my game console taking over my livin...
Why? Because Microsoft is bad for gamers. They released a BAD CONSOLE with a FLAWED "vision", and are now furiously trying to backtrack...but they still have an underpowered, overpriced console! Buying exclusive titles, insulting and LYING to their customers, polarizing fans....Microsoft is about as good for gamers as the Kinect is for playing games.
Was anyone REALLY looking forward to a Ryse sequel??? Sad for Crytek, but if they can't manage the business side of things as well as the programming side, then they really don't deserve to be in business...ESPECIALLY if they can't take care of the employees actually doing the work!
Phantom Dust could be the best game ever...but it's not going to sell Xbox consoles...and by the time it's released (most likely 2016), people won't even care about it.
Yes, it looks pretty...but without GAMEPLAY video, how are we to judge how well it will ACTUALLY look and play?
Overhyped games that wont come out for over a year shouldnt even be mentioned this year at E3!
I'm buying this as soon as I get home from work! Awesome game, WAY ahead of it's time. I fondly remember playing this both on PC and on my 3DO. Can't wait to play it all over again!
Judged unfairly? No, it was judged and found wanting. ZERO quality games for it on Xbox One...and the ones it does have, the Kinect DOESN'T FRIGGIN' WORK properly with!
You need 100% accuracy with games, and Kinect is rating around 80% accuracy...even with "new" games. There was a review of "Fantasia: Music Evolved" recently, which highlighted the problem....if you are playing the game, and the Kinect can't accurately track your movements, i...
Let's just hope you don't have a bandwidth cap! With patches like these, Comcast is probably drooling at the possibility of charging you overage fees!
