Obviously... the same will be for Socom 4. Can't wait to get back online!

They've lost most of their core fan-base by releasing poor sequels to their established franchises.

Also think of the long development times for two of their biggest games FF13 and FF13 Versus. The first took ages to port, and I'm feeling its the same with versus. The return just isn't there anymore, as there is more choice and competition in this gen. As a result revenue streams and the life cycle of games have grown much shorter. Adding to this, they seem to hav...

Its 3.11 am here in in the UK. Still not up. I can download the update, but cannot sign in. I can't change my password online either, as the network still shows as offline.

:(

Thanks. I never lost faith.

I'm so excited for this.

Its still in development so why people rating this game. It looks okay so far. The developers are good, so lets have some faith.
There's work to be done on the fluidity of movement and control response. I am picking this up.

Milking doesn't necessarily mean the volume of games... but the speed of which they are released and the level of change and innovation in each game. As I said above, COD has remained unchanged both in gameplay and quality.

Saying betas don't mean much is ridiculous. The last 3 COD games were riddled with online issues, and were some of the most glitchy games ever released. This is fact. A large development team means nothing if the final product needs dozens of patch...

Already pre-ordered. I got this nice surprise in my inbox.

I really hope this is true. These games were almost PS2 like quality. In HD they'll be as remarkable as the GOW Collection.

I hope they include making of featurettes.

They need to stop milking Assassin's Creed, and offer something new, or one of the games they have in development.

5499d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

No one is surprised by this. COD hasn't changed anything since COD 4:MW. Since then the games have been plagued with online issues, glitches and imbalanced gameplay... they son't even offer private and public betas to test the game fully, with writing and story being mediocre at best. This game will be the same, regardless of who is working on it.

I hope people start seeing that Activision is milking them. Buy Battlefield. A higher quality game in every aspect.

Nice picture... is it of you? Or people that play COD? I could care less about what you think. the next game will be released and the same things will follow... like the last three games. So keep being blind to the facts.

You're talking as if no major company has ever been hacked or breached. Sony had security. They needed this by law in order to operate as certain standards have to be met by organisations providing such a service. Saying "it should have never had happened" is like someone breaking into you house, and you get the blame for not having locks strong enough. It should have never happened, as in the crime... these articles, and people like you make it sound as if Sony left their doors...

Yes people are angry, but stronger security is more important. I much rather have this and PSN being down, than risking this happening again.

Imagine the embarrassment for Sony, the media and gamer backlash, and the impact on the company as a whole if it happens again. Sony knows this, and that why they're trying to cover all bases.

The last enjoyable game for me was COD:MW. I bought two subsequent games after that, but never again. I agree that people don't have to buy it, and the statement you made on price... however, i don't believe you get your money's worth, and other developers have followed suit. And yes I know it's personal taste, but for some reason (i feel) that people are blind to this, or refuse to see that is basically the same game, both the online and campaign. Its really a $70 game for on...

The logo looks like something made in Microsoft Paint. Why is this "information" getting so much buzz. MW3 = MW2, like
COD:BO = COD:WAW. Same game, renamed. With all the previous issues unfixed, and new ones cropping up. Hopefully the least they can do is to make it work on both consoles this time.

5502d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Do people still care about this game? Come on, wake up! Its MW2 renamed... same perks, same glitches, same broken and unbalanced online, and would be unplayable after a year... but hey the next one will be out by then.

Also, the campaign will be poor, and the game and DLC will be sold at a higher price. Congrats Activision to killing another once great franchise, and milking consumers.

I'm not saying "go after the hackers" as in Sony. The law will do that. What I meant was articles are focused on the wrong side skewing peoples views and opinions against Sony, gamers and other consumers alike. The points above should be publicized, they're all facts that still remain unknown, generating a bias view.

@mendicant... Let me first say that I own all 3 consoles, having said that let me point out the flaws in your argument:
1) Many of Sony's Exclusive are highly rated and will continue to be (as the trends show). So we can assume that typically when buying an exclusive it will more likely be a higher quality experience.

You should have added that Xbots think Sales = Quality.

2) Exclusives have helped Sony both this gen and last. Infact especially la...

No. Sony is not liable for any of this or to anyone actually. PSN would not be allowed to operate without meeting the security requirements by LAW. These were met and in place. There has been a lot of misinformation and misreported news by sites seeking hits.
