I don't believe a company would purposely make their product bad for certain uses... makes no sense for marketing, sales, reputation, quality or brand. So I don't think its a ploy by Activision or Microsoft. I feel its lack of development time to produce a new, innovative experience. This franchise has become more about churning out the Next game and making as much money as possible... and then fixing the game later. The last good game across this series was COD:MW

I don't think the adverts are the issue. Playing LA Noir on both consoles look or feel no different. Except for the multiple disks issue.
However, Black Ops was notably worse on the PS3 when it comes to gameplay and online.

Zeus and Bohan? These guys were easy. Try the final boss in Ninja Gaiden on the NES... still my biggest failure as a gamer.
