This is hardly objective. This video seems to have come from MS's keynote considering the echo and how absolutely no one mentioned any other platform at all. And if this is from MS's keynote, what the hell do you expect them to say? Would have been more impressive if it was someone asking flat-out: Which platform do you prefer, PS3,360, or Wii?

next time, use links that work. Metacritic numbers can be spun in different ways like PS3 has a higher % of "good" rated game than 360. And your dev comment links all go nowhere. Good job proving your point.

@ both above:

I understand that a lot of devs today got their start coding at home or making mods. However, I said that the user friendliness of XNA is likely to be less than something like LBP or Halo's Forge. I never said that XNA was a bad idea, just that due to the level of required knowledge to effectively use XNA, I think that it will not take off as much as LBP has the potential to. Think about the ratio of people who play user-generated mods to the people that make them...

what I find funny about the whole XNA/Youtube of games idea as an answer to LBP is(unless I'm mistaken. I've never seen the XNA dev kit): XNA is a SDK for professionals, advanced level hobbyists, students, etc. LBP is easier to play with since the tools are mapped to a controller and there (likely) is little to no coding involved. This is the same issue with modding on unreal, people love playing the mods but very few people that can make good ones of even take the time to try. Just look at t...

Thanks for sharing. No one could have guessed you feel that way.

That's funny. People are arguing that a MS executive would say "We suck the big one" or they are sayin sex is bad. That's weird.

@gorgon and Blackjack
Using meatcritics numbers, you see that 46% of PS3 games are rated good (green) versus only 41% of the 360's. what does this all mean. diddly $hit. Anyone can twist the numbers any way they like and please show an official definition of 'AAA'.

EDIT: BOOHOO. Someone's feelings were hurt because of math. It's okay math is so mean to everybody else too. (Frowny Face) If you are going to disagree, at least man up and say why.

What else do you expect a MS executive to say? And by the way, judging by the way people are acting/going to act, wait till you get laid. It's the real next-gen experience.

worse also was the last leisure Suit Larry. It was a hell of alot worse than mass effect.

Everyone keeps comparing MGS4 to MGS3 when a truer comparison is MGS4 to MGS2. MGS 3 did not have the same impact as MGS2 due to the major screw over in MGS2 and everyone the traiers were not as impressive for MGS3. Everyone has for the most part been blown away by the trailers and demos for MGS4. MGS2 and MGS4 are the first installments on new hardware as well. And those numbers are based on a staggered release. It's obvious that Konami is worried that the game will not sell well enough to j...

Just because it's sold out and selling well, doesn't mean it isn't a fad. Actually that's kind of the definition of a fad: something extremely popular for a short period of time then falls off. Just because Nintendo has been limiting supply... having trouble keeping up with demand does not mean that they will survive for that much longer. He even brings up the point of casual gamers. They simply will not buy enough games to suport the Wii. That is why this industry is built off the wallets of...

I think what they mean, or should mean, is that a podcast about a particular system should, for the most part, talk up the system versus bashing it for an hour. It's called playing to your audience. Think about it, if major nelson did a show where all he did was talk about how horrible the 360 was and how great the PS3 is, 360 fanboys would be foaming at the mouth in outrage.

It stands to reason that people listening to a PS3 podcast, want to hear good things about the PS3, wit...

I may be wrong, but didn't Rain bow 6 vegas and crackdown and splinter cell hit in 2007? and crackdown only sold well because of the Halo beta. Also, what the hell is burnout challenge?

level design needs to evolve to something like the first Half Life (for shooters at least) where the level design is part of the experience and the story elements/cutscenes explain why you can't go to another area. Also stick with loading in the background or streaming.

Go nintendo for artificially increasing demand by choking the supply line.

6633d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

That's fvcking stupid. Why would devs want to make one version better than another. They are not dumb@ss fanboys. Their goal is to make a good product and sell that product as much as possible. They were trying to make the versions the same, not one better than the other.

This is kind of funny. Everyone b!tching about is Sony back on the right track or is it DOOMED? If anyone actually took the time to think about it, they would realize this argument is stupid.

Sony is back on the right track. Disagree if you want(idiot fanboys, this means you). Sony is finally delivering good games, maybe not 90%+ rated-OMMFG-holy-sh!t-I-just-c reamed-my-pants games. But solid games and the level of quality on the multi-platform games has risen noticably.

The problem I think reviewers are going to have with ME is that the combat has always been played up as shooter centric rather than traditional RPG combat. Everything I have read or heard has pretty much called it KOTOR meets GoW. While the story may be awesome the combat may be lacking. At least that's what the negative reviews have been focusing on. Also, the story may make an RPG, but the combat can break it.

100000 is the number of PS3s sold to retailers, which is good because it means retailers are seeing an increased demand.

EDIT: yes I read it. However, the way it works in retail is the manufacturer sells the product to the retailer, the retailer then marks up the price, then the consumer purchases it. Simple concept. So where in the article does it say that it is to consumers?
