I'm surprised this one hasn't gotten hotter yet. Yahtzee slamming Uncharted, while somewhat unsurprising seeing as how he slams everything, I thought would have been causing fanboys on both sides to riot. Maybe because all he really does is bash games, in a funny way mind you, it's starting to get a little old?
You have completly missed the point. The one game that most people have been holding out for with the DS3 all for $499, Sony will sell a ton of bundles.
Resistance2 will have more on Gears2 than just story. It will have better weapons for one, and Insomniac's track record has been that the second game of their series is usually considered the best. Also, 60 player online is the upper limit. Not every match has to be that big, and Insomniac is working on making it more tactical at that size. Besides, sometimes you just want a fun fast fragfest to tool around with.
If you disagree, please comment why. I don't think i said anything that isn't true, besides, unlike some, I can handle rational arguments and differing opinions. If you can't handle my metaphors or opinions then I guess you are a true next-gen fanboy.
EDIT: I love how phantom disagreers disagree with my polite request for them to explain why they disagree. That's AWESOME. Not really.
Why do 360 fans keep raving about Gears? Yeah it was cool. Unfortunately, it was better and longer on PC, except that PC gamers were wondering what the hell was so great about it. And just because 4,000,000 people buy a $hit sandwich, doesn't mean it's a steak. (This is not a metaphor for Gears, just an example of just because something sells, doen't mean it's all that great.)
Also, almost every 360 fan keeps going on about how Gears is the best looking 360 game still. Think ab...
I think the idea sony is going for is that by not having Home integration mandatory, is to allow developers finish their game without having to worry about integrating extra crap and then add to a Home space to help develop a community. At least that's how I would position Home's open nature. If you want to hit the ground running, great. If you want to just finish your game, and then feel out the community, you can do that to.
From everything Sony has said/implied, the trophies could be pulled from art resources already in the game, maybe with minor modifications, instead of developing entirely new models just for trophies. And I would think that trophy building would be one of the last things to add in, so as not to take away from development.
I always find it funny how saying the PS3 version isn't gimped or that 360 fanboys are ignorant for thinking so, always gets disagrees from fanboys to scared to say why. And until R* says that the PS3 isn't going to get any additional content, I will continue to think that this is MS talking out of it's ass. Remember the whole, "We're the only ones to get online" BS? Then R* smacked that rumor down.
I think PS3 owners are getting upset because 360 fanboys are claiming that the PS3 version of GTA4 will be inferior from day one. That is a ridiculous statement. The fanboys seem to forget that the DLC is an expansion. The game will ship in a completed form and then later on be added to for the 360. However, I still think that the PS3 will get some king of additional content. MS may have paid $50 million, but Rockstar can make so much more by releasing DLC for both. And Take-Two still needs m...
I guess I didn't believe you, because I'm an @sshole. It's not like any random person can say whatever they want through the anonymity of the internet. I am so sorry I have offended thee, oh great gaming guru. Pimp away, oh might gaming guru, pimp away.
EDIT: Flamebait does tend to be popular.
GTA 4 will not be gimped on the PS3. That $hit is really starting to get annoying. And no, I'm not being a fanboy. People saying that GTA will be gimped on PS3 is like saying Oblivion was gimped after Shivering Isles came out. Grow up. GTA will be a complete experience on both platforms when it ships. Later, when EXPANSIONS come out you can get them "only" on the 360. That does not mean that GTA has been lessened for release. Unless you think that the 360 couldn't handle the full ga...
too human has been in development too long. It might go big, but the pressure for it to deliver is unbelievable. If it isn't amazing, it will flop. From what I've herd and read, the previews have ben mixed at best.
It's a joke. Obviously no one in this place understands sarcasm. However, considering all the loopholes in exclusivity agreements: i.e. timed exclusives vs. actual exclusives, and the way MS keeps boasting that "no one else will get DLC" it WOULD be funny if there was a loophole that allowed Rockstar to release the content on physical media. I didn't say it was likely, I just said it would be funny.
EDIT: Silver360, obviously you don't understand the definition of loo...
This should not have made it through approval. This guy is pimping his own site.
I think it would be awesome if there was a loophole to the "DLC" deal where Rockstar could make the content for the PS3 in disc format. Technically it's not DLC. Not trying to flame, I just think it would be funny/awesome.
And this goes to prove that MS will be charging an @ssload to play this.
Developers look at both. Higher hardware sales correlate to higher software sales. All last year developers were saying that it comes down to install base as to which platform to lead with. Bigger install base means more chances to sell your product. And usually the larger install base does sell more copies.
That's funny. No offense, but hope away. I really don't see this hitting for less than $20 and probably more like $30 like other expansion packs. At $10 over 2.5 million people would have to download each episode, and that's just to get their money back and it's assuming that Rockstar doesn't get a cut, which they will. Also, when has Microsoft (or any business) done anything to just make their money back. It's all about the profit. So it looks like the "Full" GTA 4 experience will ...
I think someone needs some Xanax. Most developers started with the360 in 2007 because is was the easy choice. Now, in 2008 things are a little different. PS3 owners are becoming vocally displeased at the lack of quality and developers are taking notice that the PS3's sales are picking up. Now they are coming up with a solution that works for both: Develop on the PS3 and then port over to the 360. It raises the overall quality of multiplats and keeps the PS3 user base content so the publishers...
@ 1 off topic: nice mask of eternity icon.
on topic: this is from MS's keynote(?), what else do people expect them to say? "360 iz teh suxxorz"
EDIT: bloodysinner, Insomniac actually has a choice. They choose to work with Sony. But as an independent studio, they can tell sony to bite the big one and go work with someone else. They probably like working with sony due to the freedom that sony gives them. For a publisher to allow a studio to take a chance and make...
Pirate, with training, yes someone could hit you with a "machinegun" at 900 yards. I know I could. In the game how ever those particular enemies are using sniper rifles so there is the expectation that they will be able hit targets at long distances. The only cheap targeting was the last battle on the ship where the main boss's laser sight is always glued to your head.
