First of all, why was this even approved? It's some random kid b1tching that he can't afford a PS3, ignoring that he already has a 360. Boo F***ing hoo. He's a big boy able to make big boy decisions and if he can't afford it he should do something about it if he really wants one.
To the actual subject of a one console future. Everyone for it seems to think that it will be some watershed moment raising gaming into some glorious utopia and never again be blighted by fanboys. Not ...
This whole article seems to be too biased to take seriously. It starts off by implying there are good reasons for him to say this and then he goes into b!tching about what makes a jrpg a jrpg. *Instead of bringing up subjects like stagnation and a lack of original stories, he rails against the pillars of what people expect in a jrpg.* People who like jrpgs, like them for these reasons, because that is what they are looking for. It's all about personal tastes. Some people prefer jrpgs and some...
Wow. I guess I was wrong. Even in news as good (for all gamers) as this, blind fanboyism will disagree just to disagree. That's pathetic.
What the hell, dude? Even though I like the PS3 more than the 360, this type of crap is what makes this site suck. RROD doesn't even have anything to do with this article.
This is a beautiful day for gamers. I wonder how long before he's on fox news crying about it.
EDIT: @ Snoop: I know, me too. Now let's have a moment of silence for poor, poor Jackie Boy's demise. And then go play some violent, "corrupting" videogames.
EDIT2: Also, I think it will be nice for once to have a post on here that everyone can agree about.
You forget that on PC, you can a: install the entire game on the HDD; and b: have higher hardware specs than are required to play the game. So your argument kind of falls apart, especially considering there are games already shipping on more than one DVD for PC. What's going to happen when PC manufacturers start putting Blu-ray drives in standard?
Which final fantasy? I know for a fact X, X-2, and XII were single disc. That only leaves XI, which doesn't really count as it's a MMO with several expansions.
The only games I remember having two discs were MGS3 Subsistence, where the second disc was extra content and MGO1, and GOW2 where the second disc was a making of DVD.
Maybe. I had forgotten about that one. I still think MS will try to get ID to work out some way to only play off of one DVD, because at least with a PC, you can install the data.
Actually, it's two gens ago. And MS will never allow a multiplatform game be released on multiple discs for the 360 and on a single disc for the PS3. The 360 would come off looking like the inferior machine.
But I don't remember any multiple disc games for the PS2. There may have been, there is a ton of games for it, I just don't remember them.
Also, these games aren't being compressed, which is why they are taking up so much space. If and when the time comes, they can compress the games again.
Insomniac has said that the core engine and gameplay are done. Now they are working on tweaking and polishing it for release.
You're right. What the hell is Meus doing?
That was so funny! Oh wait, actually it kind of sucked, minus the "kind of".
If you're in Australia, yes. Most people probably hadn't heard about it before zero punctuation. And, if you had heard of them before, good for you.
This article, flamebait title aside, wasn't too bad. It was well written without obvious bias one way or the other. If more article were written like this in the gaming press, this industry might be able to start getting some respect. And his final point is valid; if you can't wait for all the PS3 goodness there is and will be to come, get one now. If you can wait a few months, get the MGS4 bundle.
As to the subject: This question is always going to come down to taste. Some peo...
Exactly. My point was that it took almost 10 years before downloading music became as prevelant as it is today, so one can reasonbly assume that it will take the same amount of time regarding DD for movie content to become truly mainstream.
There are several issues keeping DD from being a primary, or even a serious alternative, means of acquiring content, and I think it's funny that people are under the impression that it is coming next week.
That's possible, but it's also possible that there is some bias. Really though, it seems kind of trivial.
They put those there because they are required to. Otherwise people could get offended by this dumbass and sue MS. This is true of DVD. Every DVD with a commentary track says the same thing. Although, in this case it adds some irony as well.
"...Don’t get me wrong, I may be in the employ of Microsoft to write this column, but there is no way I’m taking dirty money.
I am allowed to say exactly what I want to about any console or game. And you’ll see over the coming months that Xbox doesn’t get off scot-free. But even the biggest Playstation fan has to admit that the 360 is just great. And it had enough of a head start over Sony to actually tempt a few people away. ..."

"Activiosion"
Is that anything like Activision? Or the soon to be ActiBlizz?
Just a joke.
