Ironmunk is right. There are many ways to deal with high traffic on a website. The simplest (and cheapest) would have been making it explicitly understood that you need a Konami ID and Game ID to participate in the beta. That way people could have had them for weeks and just waiting instead of trying for days to get a bull$hit code that won't even be relevant when the game is released. That is why people are pissed. I doubt there will be millions playing in the beta. If that were the case, they might as well have released it. Since it's global, it will probably be a couple hundred thousand, but maybe not even that high.

I have to agree with zypher, I do not remember any US releases of any rpg that was more than one disc. You can't include FF XI because of it's expansions. The only games I remember that were released in the US that were multi-disc were Subsistence and GOW 2 and both extra discs were bonus stuff, not primary game content. I've downloaded both the beta and the update, now I'm stuck waiting for Konami to their head out of there ass and fix the ID site so I can get my extra useless game ID. Can you create your character also?
Everybody is having problems. It's because everyone is registering now in case Konami lets us play early. Fingers crossed.
They did it to westernize the controls. Every other action game had the X and O buttons functions reversed from MGS. It always took people a little time to get used to it, at least I did every time a new one came out or I hadn't played it for a while. I also remember them saying that you would have the option to use the traditional control scheme, though I'm not sure if that's still true.
I just hope rumble is in the Beta. I got me and my buddy into it last night. Best Buy FTW. And if you have to ask which beta, I feel sorry for you.
I have to disagree with you. It will definitely be one of the biggest releases this gen, however, it is still too early to say it will be the biggest hands down. There are going to be too many amazing games to count in a few years and that will help put GTA4 into perspective.
You are using the term superior in matters that are subjective. Which version is superior will be determined when both versions are released. Until then, there is no superior version.
Are you fvcking serious? How can you compare COD4 with GTA? COD, an awesome FPS, has nowhere near the content of a GTA game. They were just maps okay. It's not like it added more missions to the single player side of it. A lot of people will download the DLC for GTA4, just not as many as some of these fanboys think.
First of all, no one knows what controls were in place to keep people from voting over and over again. And second, who really thought there would be another outcome? It's simple math: there are more 360s in the wild than there are PS3s, therefore, there is a greater audience for GTA on the 360.
