How has the PS3 been cracked wide open? As far as I know, the only thing that has happened is a USB device running dubious code tricked the PS3 into thinking it's a debug unit. After that the code was extracted with claims of putting it to other USB devices. One would still assume the process is the same no matter if it is the official PSJailbreak or an imitator. All of which could be easily defeated by a firmware update that alters the USB settings on startup. So, once again, how is the ...

Piracy isn't the only reason game prices have gone up. The bigger reason is that the cost of development has increased as well. It's only natural when you go from teams of 10-15 people making a game to teams of 50-100 that it costs more to make the games. The publishers seem to not have gotten it yet that you can't make your money back as well anymore with shovelware or mid tier games. IF they would create budget titles instead of making every game $60, they would have a better ch...

Wow! Somebody has drunk a lot of the MS koolaid. You can argue the value of Live. You can argue the level of service you get from Live is worth more than $50. Hell, you can argue that Live is worth any amount you think is right. But to seriously justify a rate hike, in the middle of a recession, when there is no real way to quantify how valuable Live's features are because the one feature that "justifies" paying for Live is the ability to play online. If you could play online on...

Really? You really think that? Grow up. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean that the game is racist. Trying to continue on with this cup of sorrow is bullshit. So they let loose with a few racial slurs. Does the fictional usage of racial slurs really demean you? No, it does not. It's not directed at you, it's a fucking game. So they made an inappropriate achievement. They probably should have thought better than that. However, given the context of the game, it makes s...

This article is bullshit. The author clearly has no legal background and is just pulling shit out of his ass that he thinks sounds good or makes sense to him. This issue is far more complex than can be gone into here, and this is something that the courts will decide. If Sony can upgrade the USB drivers via firmware, then this should be very easy to defeat by simply disabling the USB ports during start up which would kill the dongle's ability to disrupt the PS3's OS.

This shit is getting ridiculous. It's been said before. This is not a jailbreak, jailbreaking is taking a cell phone that is lock to one carrier by software and unlocking it so that it can be used on another carrier. That is the only legal reason for a jailbreak. People talk about this allowing for homebrew but the only thing this dongle seems to be able to do is back up games onto a hard drive which has no use in homebrew but has a huge use for piracy.

I still think, if ...

First of all, how do you support the troops? Do you send care packages to make their lives a little easier? Do you help out families that have someone deployed? Do you volunteer, helping kids who have lost a parent adjust or help injured veterans rehabilitate? Or did you buy a fucking magnet of a yellow ribbon and think your good deed was done for the day? People say they support the troops but it doesn't really translate into action. I believe in it because I am a veteran and I don't...

But how will I know who to hate if I don't have the media giving the government a free pass on the economy while they argue about the ground zero mosque? How will I know what to fear if I don't have the media telling me about massive egg recalls and 1000 new ways to die every night?

Tell me!

Dude, seriously. Shut the fuck up! Saying "I support the troops" doesn't mean shit, it's just something people say, so please, shut up.

This is ridiculous. In COD4 you played as the Republican Guard in multiplayer and no one made a big deal because they weren't called Republican Guard. The only reason anyone is butthurt is because they can't distinguish reality from fantasy. Is it tasteless to make a game where you can play as the "Taliban" and kill "Americans"? Perhaps, but would it make a difference to the game play if they were called "Good Guys" and "Bad Guys"? No, it wouldn...

I think the games that will support more than 2 will be those quiz show style games where all Kinect has to do is track hands.

EDIT: I thought Kinect could track hands, but not fingers after they took the processor out. I mean hands as in the ends of arms, not necessarily as appendages to manipulate objects.

It was controversial for controversy's sake. It made no logical sense, even in MW2 ridiculous story. Are we really supposed to believe that a soldier with no training in espionage is able to infiltrate a terrorist organization in two days? Even if they were trying to frame Americans, which itself makes no sense, it didn't set any alarm bells off that a nobody is accepted, without question, and taken on a attack?

Games like this piss me off with their developers talkin...

The only concern is #5. If they didn't work out the reliability issues, there is less space for airflow and it could fail faster. One would hope that Microsoft fixed everything, but who knows? We'll have to wait and see.

There was a game where you could play as terrorists. It was called SWAT 2. It wasn't a shooter, it was sort of like an RTS but not really. You played a terrorist campaign taking hostages, killing civilians and police, starting riots, all kinds of shit and it was rated Teen, I think.

The AI was varied and had different levels of aggressiveness and it had several spawn locations and they changed on subsequent playthroughs. They weren't always dramatic changes, but it kept you on your toes during replays. That and don't call a shooter realistic if it takes more than a few rounds to kill an unarmored target. That is bullshit. The same goes for hit detection, if someone gets shot in the leg, they shouldn't get right back up and keep fighting. Also, I would like to...

Your article is narcissistic in the way that all unsolicited opinions on the internet are narcissistic. It's subtle but the sheer fact that you think so much of yourself that you have to share your poorly worded thoughts like we should be thanking you for gracing us with your pearls of wisdom. And negativity isn't maturity, maybe if you were a little more mature you would know that.

Passion is no excuse for shoddy work. It's ridiculous that you think it is. Passio...
