"Sony and MM both new the game was going to sell well."
give me the magic formula that tells sony and mm how many people are going to be logging on the first day a game come out and how many servers they will need to compensate for that. also tell me how you can make servers work perfectly 100% of the time.
i returned cod4 after having it a week because it could take an hour to get into a game. Warhawk had server trouble in the beta and once the game came out it was flawless. Resistance 2 has had a few troubles in teh beta, but for the most part has been flawless. socom had trouble in the beta, and i dont think the beta went long enough to sort out the problems. lbp had server issues from time to time in the beta, but it didnt matter since online wasnt needed to create. its a complex thing to co...
60 player rooms. no lag. free online.
its not like live hasnt ever and wont ever have problems. it goes down from time to time from traffic and it has lag from time to time.
at least 2 years between release sounds good, with dlc and updates being regular to keep the current game fresh.
i totally agree. i think sequels come out too soon and dont offer enough drastic change or improvments.
but i dont think it will take their entire staff to support lbp. So im sure they have some people working on the concepts for the next game.
I think sony is taking the 10year approach to the psp as well. They have done basically the same thing they did to the psx and the ps2 by making it slimmer and aesthetic redesign.
dont feel sorry for people who bought the 3000. Most people seem just fine with their purchase. Its a small noisy few who are possibly blowing the scanlines problem out of proportion.
As far as your other issues go. 802.11g would be fantastic, maybe their is a cost factor that keeps them from implement...
i think thats why its a silent recall. most people seem to be satisfied with the psp-3000, so why plant the seed that its "broken" if you dont feel that way. However i bet they will roll out scanline free psp3000 just to keep the "broken" idea from spreading.
i would wait and see whats going to happen first with this screen issue.
Also if you use homebrew then its an obvious no since the 3000 is unhackable so far.
There is a bigger difference from a 1000 to a 3000 that would make it worth it.
You have all the improvements of the 2000 like more memory to load umd's faster, the video output, lighter, 2000 screen is better than 1000 screen. To be honest if you can live without the screen then grab a 2000. if its the screen that inte...
I can imagine in the process of making the game they came up with ideas that were too late to implement and set them aside for the sequel. Thats natural considering this game was a success before it hit the shelf. Plus i havent heard media molecule working on any other big games, so what else are they going to do?
i'm ok with how resistance uses the six axis. when you are on fire, or tagged with a bullseye, or in resistance 2 you have buzz saws logged in you or when an enemy jumps on you. you shake it to get rid of those problems.
folklore's use was brilliant.
from what ive seen, this isnt the finished product on the graphics end.
And the online graphics could be tonned down from the single player for the ability to do split screen in the multiplayer. time will tell.
the water effects are awesome and the textures are already better than most games ive seen.
thats your fault not the game. if you out think your opponent it will be more shoot think shoot think and less die. thats the point.
its not a matter of not having one. its not wanting to use one. if you have a usb headset from your ps2 you have a headset, if you got warhawk or socom in the combo pack you have a headset. if you have a bluetooth headset for your cell phone, you have a headset. The problem is not wanting to listen to any trash talk, children, back ground converations, music, and people talking on the phone. If people practiced better mic etiquette you would see more people use the mic.
Plus it is entir...
i had a ps2 since launch. The same ps2. Still have it. Its modded now, but works all the same. Everyone i know that has a ps2 never had any problems with them breaking. I know numerous people with broken xbox360s. My friend who works for ups said he was shipping back 5 a day to get repaired. And most numbers show in the 30% range for 360 failure rate. Obviously youll find that one report that says 16% and swear by it.
And those heat may have been resolved, but that doesnt mean theres s...
Everyone should own this game. Its the complete package. Strong story mode. Insane competitive modes with up to 60 players (and it doesnt lag). And possibly the best feature, the coop mode, with up to 8 and the most team reliant game ive seen. Working together has never been more enjoyable and rewarding.
hey look at me. I'm a "writer" with "insight" that i need to share with everyone on my blog.
Concede what? I've never been happier with my Ps3. I use it everyday to play games, stream video to my living room, and browse the web.
there is no premium on the ps3. Its priced high because of its contents. Other sony products carry a premium and they should consider bringing them down to stimulate sales. However the ps3 actually costs a crapload to make because of everything included in the package. Sony is also holding the price of the ps3 to finally turn a profit on it since they have been selling it at a lose for so long.(those greedy a holes)
Everyone seems to be confused about sony dropping its profit outloo...
yeah, i dont get cnet. They hate all sony products. They hate all microsoft computer products named vista. Suck off the Wii, DS, Apple and xbox 360.
Not really. The RROD was hardly talked about outside of hardcore gaming news. The mainstream media barely reported it and made no big deal out of it. You walk into best buy and ask 20 people what RROD is and i bet maybe 2 or 3 will be able to tell you.
There are two main reasons people choose xbox over ps3. (which sales figures suggest they dont since ps3 has been outselling 360 globally)
1) your friends own one
2) its cheaper
Likewise go and ask someone what the 360 o...
two totally different games that use servers totally differently. resistance 2 basically has people connecting to a game with maybe 60 people and running it. lbp connects the world to everyone's uploaded levels and has people jumping in and out of levels as well as people uploading levels. its totally different traffic.
