Probably that the Switch is continuing to do well. I think it's better for the industry to have all 3 major console makers doing well and being competitive. Plus, it's good news in a selfish sense for me as this means there should be strong support for it from other developers.
The shooting at the Madden tournament for sure.
I agree with Psyonix. Personally, for a game I got for free, I feel like they delivered a fantastic game. I got so much time out of that game and can still just pick it up and play at any time.
Bungie. I bought a ps4 on the hype of Destiny 1. It was supposed to be revolutionary. It was supposed to be fun. Instead, its only redeeming feature was the gunplay. It was boring, lifeless, and incessant grinding. I wanted to love it, and I gave it many chances, but it just couldn't deliver.
Then Destiny 2 came out. I was cautiously optimistic. I bought it and liked it at first. And then the fresh paint wore off and it was more of the same.
I've ...
Cliff (even if he's only still rated so highly in his own mind)
Seymour Guado from FF10. I hated his outfit, his hair, his face, and even his voice.
I'm going to go with Kirby. His base form is obviously simple, but it's adorable. Then, factor in the tremendous amount of transformations he has from inhaling enemies, and it's impressive how extensive his design is while never losing the essence of being Kirby.
If people don't have something to whine about, they aren't happy. Of course it's trivial, but you'd think some of them have had heart attacks over character skins.
Amen. Fewer obnoxious people works for me.
I could not care any less. Quit whining and get over it. Try focusing all this passion into something that's actually worthwhile.
Super Mario Bros. 3 was the first for me. Games like Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Pokemon Blue, and FF7 really drove it home.
Meanwhile there's all these other articles on here talking about the huge volume of sales the Switch is having this holiday season. The Nintendo gloom-and-doom people are always out here though.
How can most of the people on here comment about it despite not playing it? It doesn't matter. Online, effectively-anonymous opinions are worthless.
@skull People decided that they were going to hate this game as soon as it was revealed. It's a circle-jerk whine fest. This game is going to have a ton added to it. The biggest reason people like Foxtrot call this "being honest" instead of a bunch of predetermined hate and trolling is because they hated it preemptively, too.
I've only played 6 thru 12, sans 11. For me, 7 is #1. 10, 8, and 6 are all next and close to one another. 9 was pretty good, and I hated 12 with a passion.
So, when there are battles, they're great? That's a good sign.
Nintendo definitely has the cleanest/most polished presentation. They definitely have the Direct style down.
Smash looked really good. I wish they would have gone more into detail on some of the games they flew through (short clips of like 20 different games over the span of maybe 2 minutes wasn't enough, and it seemed like there were some relatively significant ones in there).
Mario Party with playing across two Switches looked cool. If one of my friends gets it, I'll be getting it, too. We've had lots of good times with that series.
I've never ...
The games looked good, but I feel underwhelmed by the conference as a whole.
Disclaimer: I haven't played any of the leading candidates on the ps4 this year, so I can't give them proper consideration.
My personal GOTY is Smash Bros Ultimate. It was already the class of fighting games to me, and they delivered everything this time around.
