I've been wanting another KH on consoles for almost a decade now(Yes it has been that long). We did have FF games last generation but, what has released, apart from FFXIV, has been underwhelming. KH is back from a long hiatus and promises to be one of the best games of this generation. Embrace the KHIII hype.
I will admit I was wrong on this one. I wrote it off, but I'm having as much fun with this as I did Resogun or Towerfall. And SportFriends has some cool party games. I guess it was a good month afterall
:)
10m shouldn't be too hard. It has only been a year, afterall. Given Sony and ND continue to support it with psn sales/dlc/price drops.
Sony getting back to what makes them unique. Those JRPG roots.
TGS is shaping up to be more exciting than both E3 and Gamescom for PS fans.
I would have liked QD to be making that Kara tech demo into an actual game instead.
Smaller Spikes:
LBP3, DriveClub and other 3rd party AAA's
LBP3 is not a next gen exclusive and DriveClub is a new ip with a free PS+ version
Larger Spikes:
Destiny, BloodBorne, The Order, Uncharted 4
Destiny+White PS4+exclusive marketing rights, Bloodeborne is a Miyazaki souls game, The Order I believe it will get decent marketing/bundling from Sony, and as for Uncharted 4 the name alone will push PS4's.
With a Remaster, no less...
PS4 is selling more consoles in US than either XB1 or Wii U are WW. It's also holding well over a 60% market share for 2014 and 45% LTD. Much better than even Sony could have predicted.
PS4 is selling well.
XB1 and Wii U are below average for new consoles.
So it's a mix of both. Ps4 is selling so well it makes wiiu/xb1 look weak. Or wiiu/xb1 are so flat that the ps4 looks like a juggernaut in comparison.
X1 has a Madden bundle. But that will be tracked in next week's numbers. Also SSO launches in October. And FH2 is in November? Sales should slowly rise for X1 as we get closer and closer to the holidays, so random +%'s should become common.
@iamnsuperman
You think 18m is unfathomable yet you think 13m is more reasonable? The holiday season is a whole different beast than the droughts of the Summer. 16m+ is more likely than 13m. December alone could account for 2m-3m units sold.
Of course High-End PC's are more powerful than consoles... PC's have the ability to scale with the amount of money you put into them. And it's also known that the ESRAM is a bottleneck due to the small amount available. All this article is saying is that the Xbone version was downscaled because it's basically like a mid-low range PC. Cry tech was not throwing shade, just speaking facts.
All I'm saying is I'm glad I still own my PS3. PS4 has nothing but Resogun to show for its first year of PS+ and we got that first month. I'm looking forward to PSASBR on PS3. But as for PS4, I'll probably just download Velocity, play it once then not play it again like the others :(
A good strategy would be to, at the very least, redeem all the PS+ games even if your not interested or don't own the system. If people aren't using the service to its fullest, that's on them.
Both will be excellent games and it will be a close battle for lifetime sales. I can see the Uncharted series finally breaking the 10m mark with UC4. ND's last game sold over 7m copies in under a year on PS3 alone. On the other hand, RoTR could eclipse 10m when/if it finally launches on PS and PC. The longer it takes to hit other platforms the less likely RoTR will hit 10m. It took TR more than a year to sell 6.5m across ps3/360/PC. Who wins the sales war depends solely on SE's agreem...
Totally off topic, but I like your new avatar. Im really looking forward to the Browns and Cavs seasons this year.
On topic: Outside of the graphics being on another level, there is just something "familiar" about The Order. Might be the gameplay, the engine or both.
I kinda see that in the movement as well. Or it might just be that TLOU is the game that's in my brain right now.
I want the same flowing dynamic theme from the ps3. I would also like to be able to change the system background music.
I'm like you, never played Journey and am looking forward to the full experience on the PS4.
If DriveClub disappoints then I will definitely be picking this up. Hope it doesn't so I can justify having both.
