I was really hoping for an article that was .... well ... good and informative. I wanted to see what others were saying now that I've put a few hours into the demo/beta that dropped yesterday on PSN.

How about you show us an example of something that is factory built on the shelves right now that has better graphics than a 360 for $200.
... better yet, give us a machine that does all that and is a 3D Blu Ray player for $250.
Yes. Just yes. Consoles give you way more bang for your buck than PC and have major exclusive titles to boot.
But my $250 console is also a 3D Blu Ray Player, with all the multimedia aspects of a PC with free services and updates catered directly to my machine on a regular basis. The hardware is also basically 5 years old.
Show me a 500 dollar PC/laptop that can do EVERYTHING a PS3 can do ... still, 5 years later.
And then you also have the fact that PC STILL doesn't get PS exclusives. And no matter how many PC gaming fanboys hang out on the internet, I'...
I guess so ... if your so out of shape that you have to jump up a 18 inch step!
Don't make either game out to be more than they are. BF and COD are both great games in their own right. Both ahve their flaws and both have their strengths. Both are loved and played by millions.
Get off your soap box. BF is no more realistic or cheap than COD, they both have their cheap areas.

I don't disagree that Body Armor won't help against fire but when you fire MULTIPLE rifle rounds into someone.... they die. Not One. And that guy was disabled for long enough to get shot at several more times.
That video also makes you wonder how convenient it was that the camera was on that soldier at the exact second he was shot at to only live? Hmph.

Agreed. The first Resistance cover is iconic and is easily recoginzable. The 3rd one is, i agree, a little too "hipster" and doesn't fit with the previous two.

On Topic...Grenades not breaking through windows is weird and a little dissapointing if thats what shows up in the end product. But if its the windows to a subway car like in the video I could believe that...they are pretty thick and it would be hard to throw a grenade through one.
Having to jump over the small step is a little lame.

I've put quite a bit of time with Dead Island now and I was actually shocked that a reviewer finally had the balls to come out and say all the things that really take away from what this game could have been.
Would I give it a D, no . . . more like a C or 7.5/10 or so.
The game gets painfully repetitive. All the flaws he points out are galring issues that people are choosing to keep a blind eye too. Dead Island does a great job creating the environ...
i have seen plenty of reviews on this very site. I see tons of 8's and 9's.
I even bought Dead Island on Friday (Got a Special Edition at Gamestop because someone didn't pick up their pre-order). I like it and really want to love it but the rookie mistakes made on this game are just sad.
Oh well...the CGI trailer was their nail in the coffin. This game could never have lived up to its trailer.
Can't believe the scores this game is getting with all the evident bugs.
Shows how unreliable gaming journalism is. Games with HALF the amount of bugs as Dead Island get lamb-basted and ripped apart...Dead Island gets 8's and 9's.
