There's no excuse. I don't care if its a Beta/Demo or not. It looks like crap up close, filled with campers that are supported by the Bottleneck design of the map, spawning, etc.
For example, look at Killzone 3's Beta, which is 8 months older, and 500mb smaller....

Best in the Biz now? Last year Brady threw 36/4 TD to Int ratio...9:1. Best ever TD Ratio for a QB playing a full Season. Also had teh most passing attempts without an INT (400+), another NFL record. This year, the most passing yards through a 3 week span EVER in history.

AFter spending 4 hours with the "Beta" its a no go for me. I had high hopes, mostly blown up by the EA hype machine and PC trailers.
The game is a mess. Not as good as KZ, MOH (which is sad), Halo, Uncharted, or ... dare I say COD. I felt like it was worse than BFBC2.
And it being a beta is no excuse. The KZ3 "Beta" was almost a mirror image of the final product and it was less than 1GB in size. BF3 is 1.3GB in size and looks terr...

EA did itself a disservice by choosing to do this. The "Average" gamer/consumer is playing this demo/beta and it is going to be part of what helps them decide to buy it or not ...
and that is not good. Changed my impression of what I thought we'd be getting. The KZ3 "beta" makes this BF3 beta/demo look like a damn PS2 game.

I have a 240hz 1080p 3D HX Bravia and my TV exposed this game.
Effects in the background look nice (missile launching out of city over the water) but the rest is a hot mess. Especially compared to what they primed us for.
P.S. 3D is sick. Watched TRON in 3D and it was crazy! Better than the movies!

I agree with you on the graphics. Its the first thing I though of when I started playing. The graphics and character models look really bad compared to what they were building us up for.
Also realize that you'll never convince the fanboys in love and determined to BF3 will the "teh best evarrrrr".

I thought the same thing. Some of the effects are nicer (Missiles launching, sparks, lighting, smoke)... but I didn't notice a huge upgrade from last years MOH installment.
