I was on at 00:40 and there were not that many people on. It was neat to see the map get brighter as the night went on.
The last 2 weeks there have been some pretty big game sales. Toys r Us and Target each had a buy 2 get 1 free sale in successive weeks. A lot of gamers, like myself, bought games they haven't had time to buy or play.
I didn't get BF3 during those sprees, I got Rage, Ratchet, Uncharted, R3, Batman AC, and Dark Souls.
I know that BF3 is problyh better than the Beta but the Beta really turned me off.
The mute button is a wonderful creation. They are needed in ALL FPS games.
Its really hard to compare an FPS to an Open World RPG...no one is right and no one is wrong in this "argument".
Not for nothing but Oblivion/Fallout/Skyrim are also extremely repetitive. Sidequests, looting, searching...the same dungeons, villages, and landscaped over an over. For the first 20 hours it is all relatively new but even games like Skyrim get repetitive. It's like COD/BF/Halo's MP. More or less of the same thing over and over.
Why is everyone getting so snobbish about COD these days? If games change to much, devs are ruining it...not enough, then the are addi...
People hate on what is popular. Its not cool to play what is popular. They all have to be the cool kids playing the unpopular games before they become popular.
They are probably the same way with movies and music.
Not that there isn't tons of replayability in any Bethesda game but I think the point he is making in the Replay value of a game like COD. People play the MP for days of time! That is a lot of replayability for $60.
I'm guessing that is the point they were trying to make.

Yeah I went a little in the wrong direction from my initial thought. I understand the holiday season and all but I've always been pf the mind that some releases would benefit from a summer release where there is less blockbuster competition and and they are all fighting for peoples $$$ all at the same time.
I agree they should space games out better. If EA released Battlefield in June or July it would sell even better. There would be a lot more "COD Only" people willing to drop $60 on a game if it had 4 months to play until the next big FPS game. Leaving 3 weeks between BF3 and COD is the reason why some of the people I know aren't getting BF3...because they know once COD is out everyone will be playing it.
There is absolutely nothing scary about RE4.

I'm sure Insomniac "shipped" a couple million copies of Resistance 3, they "sold" less than 500,000.
Sold to retailers means nothing, sold to consumers shows a games impact.
Exactly, its like the creators of Forza are saying :
"yeah, we had all this extra content ready to be included in the game but instead we'll keep it out so we can sucker you into buying more of what should have been included into the game".

And you think this is ok but the GT5 DLC is not? Plus the GT5 DLC is cars (15, not the 8 Forza put out for $7), 2 new tracks, 150 paint colors, racing gear, and parts for $9....
