Yeah, I played quite a bit but I'm not playing as much either now. I got to the 6th and basically stopped.
Finally investing myself to Skyrim! I wish the fighting system was a little better but I could seriously just walk around Skyrim exploring for days!
Also started LOTR War in the North which is pretty fun, especially if you like LOTR.
After that its on to Reckoning!

Yeah. Online Trophies and Achievements are WAY overdue!
To be honest, I thought the maps were part of the games strong points. There aren't any bottlenecks that you can't get around, which helps with the excessive camping you find in FPS games.
No matter where you are on the map you have to defend at least 3 ways where enemies can get to you. I found it helped keep the players moving and separates the good players from the mediocre/bad.
Minus the need for a graphical facelift, I think MW3 is the best...

That's what I hate most... it's like a slap in the face. The devs already have stuff that should be in the game but they leave it out to bone you later!
Because at its core, COD is an excellent shooter. Love it or hate it. The base of COD:MW inside these games is still virtually unmatched on consoles.
Could the game use a graphics engine update? Sure. But COD's gameplay is top notch. Rumble, I can see your point of view but I was talking about all games . . . not just BF3. Its becoming a trend across the board. Great SP games are putting in unnecessary MP modes that you could argue take from the SP and great MP games are taking away form the SP campaigns that they used to do well.
In BF3 and COD MW3's cases . . . the SP modes are becoming weaker and weaker. We should hold devs to higher standards and they should improve all aspects of their games...

I with the combat was a little less "clunky" (maybe a better 3rd person mode?) but overall the environment is absoultely amazing.

I think people are quick to give something they like a pass and not admit its flaws. The other problem is that reviewers do not, or rarely, take points away for these shortcomings even when they notice them.
By allowing game companies to put out half hearted SP games just because there is an MP, only allows game companies to do it more and more.
In the end, gamers lose on overall quality games.

If MW3 was as broken and buggy as Skyrim was from launch no one would ever forgive them.
But Bethesda basically upgrades the graphics in the next Elder Scrolls games and its like the game is an epiphany. Is this everyone's first open world RPG? Fallout 3 had less bugs and is 2 years older.
Skyrim has gotten a big pass and hasn't been properly criticized for the performance issues it has, especially on consoles.

EVERY FPS game in each franchise isn't very different from its previous installment. COD, HALO, Killzone, Resistance, Rainbow 6, and yes ... even everyone's precious Battlefield 3. BF3 is the obvious successor to BFBC2 evem though it is titled BF3. Your can see the obvious progression.

If all the people that rant and rave about Sony Exclusives actually bought them they wouldn't be in this position.
I'm basically a PS only gamer and I buy virtually all exclusive games. But I know most of the people that fanboy it up don't. R3 was awesome but it sold like crap! Modnation was awesome but also, sold like garbage. Heavenly Sword, awesome. Fable, awesome. Etc. Etc. Lackluster sales. I can't blame Sony, they do need to make money.
