Then you wouldn't be waiting for a looter shooter and this article isn't for you.
I am starting to think it's a few people, or even one person, making most of the 'it's the leftists, it's the liberals, it's the SJWs' comments. It's easy to have more than one account here.
It may have been review-bombed so who knows.
Real gamers want developers to make decisions about their games except when it comes to what words are used, the gender of characters, "SJW" issues, the store it's sold on, etc.
Grow up. Do you need attention that badly?
@Atom666
Most of the people outraged about the Epic Store are outraged about a lot of things and spend hours and hours online screaming about it. Epic would be smart to not prioritize them.
What does standard mean, to make it like Valve Corporation's store?
If they add a forum it will require 24/7 moderation or else it will quickly become like 8chan. Not only that, if they moderate and delete comments they'll have to deal with people screaming about their free speech. Why would anyone want to deal with that?
The same goes for user reviews. Valve had to put a review-bomb mechanism in place, image what Epic would have to do.
...
Valve Corporation plays hardball, so does Epic.
Those outraged that this is another console war on the PC should realize that Steam is not a console, it's a vendor.
The slippery slope argument is a propaganda technique.
It assumes we are so stupid as to not be able to handle future situations.
We can't ban hand grenades because it's a slippery slope, we won't know what to do when someone wants to own a bolt-action rifle.
We can't ban PCP because it's a slippery slope, we won't know what to do when someone wants to smoke pot.
Why is he talking about weaponizing hate speech and how it's vague? We all saw what the racist who was banned said.
The question is whether or not his library should be unplayable but the writer made everything blurry by talking about how he was the victim of racism and how what you say today may be considerd hate speech tomorrow.
The 'slippery slope' argument is never convincing.
@ReesesPuffs
'who clearly has no dog in the race"
"talk like he understands what he's talking about"
"you are the same type of person"
"you spew whatever biased and misinformed opinion you have"
Your comment is all about me and makes no sense. It's not my fault a new game store makes you angry. Lighten up, I was just goofing off a little.
"...but they're selling exponentially fewer copies of their game"
What are you basing that on?
You never know, Steam users may have review-bombed it if someone said one of the devs was following an SJW on Twitter.
But, but, the Epic Store has no features like a toxic forum and I don't want another launcher, waaaaaa waaaaaa. The free market stinks, waaaaa waaaaa.
I guess the Epic Store has a huge customer base after all. This is a very good sign for developers, small and large, thinking about bypassing Valve Corporation altogether.
I know they don't have to because they're private, but they can. They were very strict about developers not disclosing the cut they take, making them sign NDAs (they released their pay schedule recently but that was a reaction to the Epic Store, for over a decade they kept it hidden.)
A post in the comment section of the article reminded me of headlines like these:
Fortnite is Dead
Apex is the New King
The only reason Apex appeared to be doing so well is because people were paid to promote it. Ninja got a million dollars to play it on Twitch, YoutTubers were paid to make videos, bloggers were paid. Why don't journalists talk about that? Because they were paid too.
She used to be a race-car driver.
"If I can't use the n-word does that mean I can't say hello to people?"
That's how you morons sound, like dysfunctional man-babies.
