I still don't understand why people think Steam is a platform. When I see '...coming to Steam' I think it will be a Steam exclusive, then I see it'll be available elsewhere. Why don't they just say '...coming to PC'.
Wow, I would have thought more.
In the near future all forms of entertainment will be heavily regulated (controlled) by the federal government. The Protecting Children from Abusive Games Act and the WHO designation is only the beginning.
Considering that a Republican wrote the Protecting Children from Abusive Games Act, and Donald Trump will sign it in to law, it's hard to blame this on SJWs.
Gamers used to unite against these things, now they scream their heads off about new game s...
@good_sk8er
It wouldn't be a waste to me.
Loot boxes aren't a monopoly or a cartel.
Not as sad as gamers thinking the US Senate is in touch with them.
How many children were killed by loot boxes?
How many children were killed because their gun-owner parents acted irresponsibly?
$140 is not a lot of money to some of us.
Josh Hawley Is vying with Ted Cruz for the mantle of most disingenuous, least principled senator.
This guy is a scumbag. This is nothing more than a political stunt to get him attention. He's a total liar.
What anti-consumer tactics?
Do you think Valve's exclusives on Steam are anti-consumer?
Maybe the government should price-fix them too, right?
@TeamIcoFan
No one is paying me and I think banning them is outrageous.
How many loot boxes have you purchased, if any?
Why do some people want loot boxes banned?
In particular, why do they want others to be prohibited from purchasing them?
Also, what legal basis is there for banning them? If it's gambling, do people who want loot boxes banned also want
lottery tickets and other forms of gambling banned?
PS - they won't be banned.
Not all game journalists, some of them.
PC Gamer was spreading fake news.
PC Gamer, the 'global authority on PC gaming' is the worst game site there is.
These are the people who spent almost a year telling us that SteamOS was the biggest game changer in more than a decade.
They wrote 95 articles on No Man's SKy, every one positive or very positive, before it was released (let's be honest, it sucked when it first came out). Then they wrote an article on the hype and whose fault it was (not their's of course)....
No they won't. Games will become worse.
@Inzo
Have you ever purchased a loot box, and if so, how many have you purchased?
Do you really want the government to direct game development so games aren't more grindy? Do you want them to decide the pacing of games, and their duration as well?
If the Protecting Children from Abusive Games Act passes we'll see more and more advertising. Developers will have to make up for it somehow, or else go out of business.
