How can they outdo Sony? It's a relative question to be honest, big Sony fans are going to pick Sony and Microsoft fans will pick Microsoft.

In my opinion Microsoft can have a successful show by simply showing off their new console, show it running with the new interface.
Show off some of the features and controller, what type of Kinect integration are we getting? Are they using it mostly as voice command and navigation or are they using it for games?

This might mean anyone can self publish titles on the next Xbox for the $60 fee and Windows app, could have huge implications where indie's are concerned.

Looking forward to getting some actual confirmation.

You mean the rumor that they were originally going to have something in April? There isn't really a way to confirm it, they could have had May as their target all along.

In fact if they did push it back, it proves all the more that they aren't really afraid of what the competition is doing and it makes a statement that they wont be rushed or goaded into making an announcement over false rumors.

It's all a strategy, Sony didn't show the conso...

No, not at all. People that try and compare PSN+ to XBL are comparing apples to oranges. PSN+ is more of a game rental service and doesn't really do anything to improve the actual online experience.

I prefer Xbox Live for a lot of reasons, no downtime/maintenance or anything like that, voice messaging, feedback system and rep system, updated interface, party chat, one to one chat, ability to appear offline, no lag when you compare Achievements with friends or use the int...

Actually they are technically 2nd place according to their own numbers and everywhere else except one source that pulled numbers out of their butt.

I hear what you are saying though, but when you consider that Microsoft had virtually no marketshare with the original Xbox, and they've tripled sales with the Xbox 360 and are number one in England and about to be in the USA, it's quite a feat.

Microsoft and Nintendo both went up in sales from the previ...

I don't think they are afraid, which probably explains why they stayed on course with their reveal on their own terms, but I'm sure they realize Sony is their biggest competition and will try to match and outdue them at every chance they get.

One way would to be showing off the actual console, a lot of Microsoft people from Major Nelson to Aaron Greenberg kind of poked fun of the Sony reveal with no actual console, so if they show their console, that would be one way ...

After playing this, how in the world are they going to get the game on Xbox 360 and PS3? There is a huge amount of touch screen interactions, maybe the most I've seen or played with the Wii U thus far.

The game is fantastic though, like the best platform game I've played in a long, long time.

MS had a more core gaming lineup in 2012 then any other company imo. Rumors aren't fact, the same rumors about the PS4 turned out to be false, which was blocking used games and always online. Most of the rumors suggested 6 gigs of RAM for the PS4, not the 8 it ended up with.

So much better! It should have been like this from launch.

Thanks, I finally got it. It took 23 minutes to download, which wasn't bad. I can actually access the eShop now, used to get error 111-1009.

Is this live in America yet? I haven't gotten it, do you have to go somewhere to get it? Or will it prompt you to download it?

There is nothing confirmed about the next Xbox except that they are announcing it on May 21st.

And here is a rumor to counter the always on one.

That is how people on this site act though, I still remember how people said the Vita would crush the much weaker 3DS, but we know that didn't happen.

People thought the mighty PS3 would crush Microsoft and Nintendo, but that didn't happen.

I think things will be pretty even up next generation, though Nintendo has a lead already and could gain on that with some new software, not sure why anyone would count out Nintendo or Microsoft, especially comin...

Microsoft has the money to try again over in Japan, they should try and lock up some Japanese friendly games, get a Monster Hunter game or Lost Odyssey game going, anything will probably do better then the current Xbox is doing, but it isn't impossible to do better, they just need appealing software, I feel like Microsoft does a great job of giving American consumers what they want, not so over there.

Well Microsoft can show off the next Xbox console itself, that will be a big one up in my opinion.

They can show games running on the next Xbox, show the actual interface up and running, say it's backwards compatible and it doesn't block used games or require an always on connection.

Those are things that will help Microsoft the most, of course no matter what they do, they'll get crucified here for it, but I think millions of gamer's will tu...

Here is what I want to see at the reveal.
The Next-Box console.
The interface for the console when on.
Features for the next Xbox, Xbox Live evolution ect...
Some games, but save the surprises and huge games for E3.
Kinect 2.0 that works like the first Kinect should have.
No DRM
Yes to used games
Yes to disc based backwards compatibility.
No major changes to the controller, improve the D-pad

At E3 I want to...

Did he write the first Mass Effect? That game was amazing, loved it and put over 100 hours into it when it launched on the Xbox 360 in 2007.

Liked Mass Effect 2, but seemed more like companion missions took the forefront. Mass Effect 3 was epic in my opinion, all the way until the ending, which I took as being indoctrinated, not sure if I was wrong or not, but it didn't matter what you did you were screwed is what I took from it.

It'll save them money, but why not go all out, show off the games, announce a price drop, new features and then do the Nintendo Directs to reach even more people?

4804d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

Twin Snakes had a ton of Nintendo references in it, I don't think they'd be allowed to publish that on a PlayStation console, but I agree that I would have loved that, Twin Snakes is still one of my favorite MGS games.

It has to do with the money they have to pay to get them on handhelds/consoles. It is much cheaper to publish games on IOS, so the games end up being cheaper for consumers. Ironically, developers make more per game sold on IOS then they do on consoles/handhelds.
