On xbox live you can mute everyone that isn't on your friends list. Kinda like that option better than mute all. Love that feature.

I really don't think Skyrim on the Ps3 ever worked as the devs intended with all those bugs and resets.
Also, gpu companies (amd & nividia) update their software to run games up to 20% faster/stable in some cases every few months.
Set down and walk away from your console sipping Kool-Aid, and just know they both do improve over time. Not just that black box you worship before bedtime, but both.

Every magazine has their own "game of the year" winner, so not sure where u think consoles have "won" them for the past 10 years. Besides that, a good 75% average or better from various "winners" are multiplatform (Batman 2011, Skyrim or Mass Effect 3 2012) with significant graphic/mod updates available to the pc versions.

Well ya of course there will be multiple parts suppliers, the same with maybe every console ever built. It's doubtfully Sony or ms actually even makes 1 part inside of their consoles.

I wouldn't go over to the dark side with sony, but I wouldn't go next gen xbox if they had online fees. I'm playing on my gaming laptop and pc way too much these days. Im liking steam and all these dozens of free mmo's.

You are aware your pc can plug into the same exact hdmi port on your tv as your console, right? Heck you can even use xbox controllers on your pc. Im enjoying Steam gaming on my hd tv from my recliner.

It will be the new standard, but just not in the near future due to the high cost. Plus 2560x1080 monitors have very slow refresh rates currently.
Components don't "just balance out". They bottleneck. Both ms and sony are using slower laptop cpu and gpu's that will bottleneck performance long before anything over 4gb of ram will ever matter. That's being generous at 4gb, because a dedicated gaming OS will use even less resources than windows does.
I'll always love console gaming, but let's be realistic here with expectations.

Once ms announces its console, instead of people trolling who has better specs, they will just fall back on who has better games, or online services. Not like that's ever gunna stop.
