xbox and ps aren't going to be backwards compatible because of the upgrade to x86 cpu. so at least fanboys wont be foaming at the mouth flaming each over that aspect.

Overall console users are much ignorant of components because most pc users, especially builders have been console users or many still are. They are much more likely to take the time to read and research about technologies and components.
With that said their are bias and ignorant fanboys in every category: sony, ms, and pc. Ignorance such as Kratos claiming pc users could never understand optimization.

Any blockbuster movie nowadays is bound to be 90% explosions and set your congnitive processes to low settings (because some things just wouldn't happen that way).
But with that said, if you can get a decent 10% plot and acting, most people are happy with that. Pretty much the polar opposite of how films were 20-30+ years ago because there wasn't the technology available to focus most resources into special effects.
1 year later when the ps3 launched, it was godawful. Much worse than the 360 line up of games, online service, and price point (and again, then with a full extra year of planning).
Past is in the past. I think both companies will have solid launches. I mean they've had 7 years to plan for it (longest gap in console history).
It will be made by MS (well contracted out by MS to some the 3rd world country(s) for production like any other console).

I think its great to be on either or both sides (sony/ms). Cant friggin wait for next gen.
Also being a pc gamer, I did wish the next gen consoles were a bit more powerful, but nonetheless, I think we'll see lots of awesomeness.

Rushed um no bro. since this has been the longest gap in the next console, in all of console history. I'd say if anything, the next gen consoles are too slow for my tastes.
