Yep, I texted XCloud once just to see if it was better than prior streaming services (it wasn't, or at least not enough so to make it worth playing).
It's kind of the same issue with how companies are now citing the overall number of players who have played their FTP or Gamepass game. I downloaded Flight Simulator and played it once out of curiosity, so I guess I'd technically be in whatever numbers they have, but I didn't play the game in any meaningful wa...
I came here to make this comment if no one else has, lol. Are we to understand that, because they had to specifically tell us they are targeting high scores for this game, they usually are not when they don't say anything?
MS needs to refresh Series S with a 1TB SSD. $299 is a great price and with only a few hiccups the console has been a much more capable alternative than I expected, but 512 GB is just too small for a lot of people. I mean if you get it and install MCC, that's probably a third of your space gone already.
And you're probably only buying COD/GTA/FIFA anyway. The UK sales numbers show that all but the most mainstream titles are skewing heavily toward PS5 (Sifu just sold better on PS5 than PS4 by a more than 4:1 ratio).
And fewer things cut out to get to the finish line.
Yeah I realize it's too late for major changes, but I do expect it means they won't end up cutting a lot of things in the last stretch just to get it to average 26 fps on the base PS4/Xone. I see it as being somewhat similar to Dying Light last gen, which was initially developed on 360 and PS3, but they dropped those versions so the game wouldn't be compromised.
Last gen versions cancelled! So much more interested in this game now.
No, I'm just sick of cross-gen.
Sigh sigh sigh sigh. Of course you're still advocating for games being gimped for 2013 CPUs. Okay, yes obviously you can port an old or basic game to U5 and it will still run on the ancient systems.
*Unreal Engine 5 when the devs actually take advantage of the engine's features means no more last gen.
Happy with that correction? Or do we need more ruinous cross-gen?
Unreal Engine 5 means no more last gen so I hope every game uses it now.
People have a really hard time with understanding that game success is relative to production costs. People are really locked into the idea that if a game "sold millions" it is a success.
2 had the really interesting, ahead of its time co-op (if it had been on 360 it would be constantly talked about still, but games journalists really didn't acknowledge multiplayer games on PS3 and really only acknowledged single player games from Naughty Dog). But the campaign in 2 was just bad. It clearly suffered from trying to be more like the games coming out around it (mostly COD) rather than embracing the spirit of more classic FPS games like 1 and 3 did so well.
Exactly. The statement was something like "well it's been over ten years since they've done New York and I don't think they really nailed it so I'd like to see them try again with more advanced hardware." But to me after IV there is no need. Not to mention that even apart from GTA far too many games are set in NY (although I guess the Spiderman games don't have much choice). I agree with you, Vice City would be cool, or something new entirely.
As long as it isn't New York again lol. I heard someone on a podcast saying they would really like Rockstar to try to do New York right, and I just rolled my eyes.
It probably sold about as much as every Killzone game put together. And that's probably estimating Killzone's numbers a little high. Although in fairness Sony got a lot better at marketing games in the PS4 era than they were during PS3.
Lol I can't wait for PS6 to launch so we can finally get some games actually designed for PS5.
By far. Particularly since about 40% of the promises they supposedly made were just things the community made up from watching trailers.
Well it was designed around the same 2013 CPU Elden Ring is based on.
I was hoping for 2 Remake and RE7 to get them first, but since they are free I won't complain lol.
No last gen! Crazy that I have to be excited about a 2023 game not being built on a 2013 CPU, but that's where we are now.
