Lol, no one is even still pretending to care about Stadia at this point. So it's not that there are a bunch of people who think it is going to succeed who are refusing to address your arguments about it; rather, everyone realizes what a massive failure it is, and you aren't pointing out anything that people haven't already concluded on their own a long time ago.
Keep in mind that this is not a traditional gaming site. They may not understand that attaching the word "horror" to a game means a specific thing to us that the outside person might not understand.
Interesting that two games with such similar concepts were shown at the PS5 showcase (this and Deathloop).
I'm all for it though. At this point for me, I often want something that is fun to pick up and play even if it's been awhile since I've played. These games sound perfect for that.
If someone can't acknowledge this, there is almost no point in having a discussion with them. The amount that gamers take for granted is truly staggering. Rockstar is one of those devs that people now take for granted because of their own enormous achievements (Bethesda Game Studios being another). People don't compare them against any other studio actually in existence, but rather against an ideal scenario in their head of a studio that puts an RDR2-quality game out every 2-3 years, ...
I'm not comparing to all of Take-Two, no. And there have been plenty of other Take-Two releases this gen.
"Nobody criticizes any publisher for releasing a lot of games."
This might be my favorite thing I've ever seen on this site. People frequently criticize publishers for releasing too many games.

It seems like a reach to count Lost Legacy as a full game. However, putting that aside, it seems like from your comments on God of War, you actually agree with my point. My point was that as games have become bigger and more detailed, it is natural for studios to slow down on the number of releases per generation. My point is that people won't apply the arguments they use against Rockstar to other devs who have slowed down new releases just as much as they have....
I've had a somewhat similar realization (although I didn't sell everything, haha). Between Steam, PS4, and Switch, with the rate I play games I could probably be fine for five years without any new releases. However, if there is something new that I want to play, that goes to the front.
While I hope you are right, I'm afraid there will still be plenty of 30 fps games next gen. People act like there's going to be a magical moment where we start getting everything at 60 fps, but that's only going to happen if devs don't push resolution/visuals too much. I mean, theoretically every game this gen could have been 60 fps, if we were willing to make enough other compromises.
Actually, I'm in favor of every game having dynamic resolution as at ...
I know nostalgia is fun, but you can't seriously be contending that Vice City, fun as it was, is anywhere near the level of production quality as Red Dead 2.
Not to mention people now look down on studios that put out games annually in a way we didn't back then. If they put out a game every year, we'd be blasting them for milking their franchises.
It's cool to hate on Rockstar now, so people don't want to admit that a lot of major studios have significantly slowed down in terms of output this gen. Sony Santa Monica only put out one game this gen, and they get praised for it. Guerrilla only made two, and one was a launch game. If you don't count remasters of last gen games, Naughty Dog will only have two games, even though they had four last gen.
Also, people will get mad and blast you if you put out too m...
Ubisoft: spams annual releases.
Gamers: "Stop, we want quality over quantity, you are running your properties into the ground."
Rockstar: releases Red Dead Redemption 2
Gamers: "Come on, we want quantity!"

If the Series S/Lockhart actually exists and is as much less powerful as is rumored, there is no world where it would only be $50 less than the Series X. For that difference, there would be no point for them to make a second console (the two PS5s may only be $50 apart, but they are the same hardware other than the disk drive). No one is going to buy the S if it has less than half the graphics horsepower if they only save $50. If Series X is the only Xbox, I wou...
For all digital consoles, there should be a built in discount for everything. So new games should be cheaper, Ps plus subscriptions, ps now, etc. This would align incentives; people would get cheaper games in exchange for guaranteeing Sony that all purchases will be made from them and that they will not lose any money to used game sales.
On the other hand, I can see a lot of issues with parents/grandparents not understanding the difference and buying the digital version for...
I mean, presumably if you are concerned about BC and all your PS4 games are on disc, you just wouldn't want to get the all digital PS5. This would become more complicated of they included BC of earlier gens as well, but unfortunately at the moment we have no reason to believe they will.
I see what you're saying (although I'll never pay as much for a phone as I would a console), but I do think phone prices are relevant in that the shift from carrier subsidized phones has conditioned people to better understand the value of electronics.
At least in the US, it used to be that carriers would massively subsidize very expensive phones, such that you could get an expensive iPhone or Samsung phone for free or less than $200 that you'd now pay $600+ for...
Maybe they think it has been long enough and enough people have forgotten, but I think they will avoid $599 at all costs to avoid negative comparisons to PS3 launch. There are a whole host of reasons why $599 would be more reasonable now, but that wouldn't stop the wave of bad press they would inevitably get.
I love these kids who pretend to have amazing PCs. In reality KilluaX3 probably uses integrated graphics to play Fortnite.
This is the answer. And people will always be like "oh, but 360 sold 76 more units than PS3 in the UK, and that's another region," but if you look at Europe as a whole, it isn't competitive.
People also ignore the impact of Japan with statements like "Japan isn't important for home consoles anymore" (ironically these are often the same people who treat the UK as an important individual region), but PS3 sold over 10 million there, and PS4 is t...
I see your point, but your argument assumes that it is the same 10% buying every exclusive. While there is inevitably some crossover, and there are some hardcore Sony fans who will buy nearly every exclusive, it should be obvious that different games appeal to different people. The person who loves Gran Turismo may not buy uncharted, while the uncharted fan may not be interested in God of War, and the God of War fan may be tired of superheroes and skip Spiderman.
Also, even...
Some games had cross save as well, so you could transfer your progress across platforms. Basically it seems like smart delivery is a combination of cross buy and cross save, and probably with fewer steps.
