the recent Sony hack that actually stole information, occured through a vulnerability in the windows OS... The recommended fix by most experts was to switch to macs... You realize that the X1 runs on windows os right? the ps4 doesn't... Who exactly should be worried? Lets mistrust Sony for using Windows but ignore the outages and issues on the MS side... awesome... This is called reporting by someone who knows nothing about the issue and lacks any technical aptitude... These people should...
Yeah, if X1 and PS4 users are on the same servers playing the same game... That would be monumental indeed... It has never happened before. That would be totally awesome if true...
That would be reasonable if live wasnt just as spotty...
I wish gamer bolt would get banned... just constant baiting...
This has nothing to do with MS caving in to Sony and everything to do with the agreement made when mojang or whatever the name of the company was bought out. MS publicly announced that it would not restrict Minecraft from being on any consoles as a result of the purchase.
Scraping the barrel here. I wish the Pachter articles would just go away, instead we are finding more of the same...
@dcbronco
Did you read the comment or the article? They didn't say ANYTHING about it being similar to develop on. They said they had already developed for PS3 owners and they wanted to stick with that fanbase. Since you can't share across PSN and XBL, why would they want to try to re-establish themselves when they already have a cult following on PSN?
At least find something reasonable to troll about if your going to do it...
DDos can hardly be considered hacking. It is the same stupid pranks that computer geeks have done since the 90s. Nothing impressive. Just annoying. Kids who don't know how to hack do things like this to make themselves feel important. And the only thing you can do to stop it is spend alot of money on unnecessary and costly infrastructure so that you can withstand the payload being thrown at you. Which means for gamers that we will pay more for games and services to offset the native incr...
Will this share servers with pc? If not I expect it has zero chance of success on console. Just won't be a big enough population...they waited to long for release.
It's true. Same here.
@Lamer
You do realize that Driveclub is a network based game right? Your comment really takes the cake for lack of sense...
It is against the rules to dislike a console but not against the rules to rip apart any game you want... interesting concept...
Nothing wrong with not liking a certain console or company. No more than liking one game over another... you just need to exercise some level maturity when possible when expressing your views
I find http://www.listwar.com enlightening regarding exclusives. Genius Idea to do something simple like that.
On Topic, I KNOW Pachter didn't just Jinx Sony... Someone tell him to shut up right now... If he says that, then from past experience we know the opposite will happen! SONY IS DOOMED!!! lol.
I think alot more people are unhappy with the gimping in all honesty...
Shoot maybe we need a vigilante group to hack the wannabe hackers. Lol.
I'm all about 60fps 1080p. it is unfortunate that neither consoles can consistently hit it. But that being said 30 frames worked all through the ps3 lifetime why is it all the sudden unacceptable now? We don't get alot of good games any more because we nit pick the heck out of every good game that comes out instead of just playing it to find out... these game devs are ripping through massive budgets and making significant risks to try and meet our gaming demands and we turn our noses ...
@Darth
Actually even Phil Spencer said that their goals were to be number 1 and not settle for second best. Seriously... what company aims to just exist? Darth that is your opinion...and there is zero evidence to support it... more evidence supports the brand has diminished. Some might say it is even the reason the console is suffering.
That being said it doesn't mean not being the most sold makes it unsuccessful. Maybe that is what you meant to say. Ev...
He is right... you can gripe all you want.. but it's hard to account for all the points of failure in a massively asynchronous environment. When you argue against his points you only prove how little you know of software development...That's why so many games have these same issues. Network games are very challenging when you go outside the normal templates and attempt to do something new.
This can only be said so many times... There isn't alot any company can realistically do to prevent a DDOS attempt from someone who actually knows how to do it... Thats why its such a heinous act... All it does is hurt the consumer(which is all of us in this case)... We lose time that we could be playing games.. If you want to gripe, gripe at the idiots who think it is somehow cool to do this crap...
If a company makes that "upgrade" as you all put it.. it equat...
