I remember last year when rushed predictions and estimations indicated Nintendo won the holiday quarter.. when the actual numbers came in, it was a different story. Lets wait until smash brothers releases and see what those numbers do for the system, then make some long term predictions.
I hate to break it to some, but the displays for all games in general are rendered via algorithms. 4k refers to the number of pixels on the screen last i checked, not the algorithms that determines the value of each nor the rate at which they refresh. No sense beng upset because sony came up with a more effective approach to narrow the gap so that it requires df to be able to distinguish between the two despite the hardware differences. I think that ps4 owners will continue to enjoy their g...
So basically highly paid employees who willingly opt to work for a prestigious company and willingly agree to the work conditions should give us pause on how we spend our money..
Well, I hate to break it to you, but most indie/startups can't afford to pay their employees anything and most are forced to work alternative jobs with only the hope of someday making money.Maybe we should stop supporting the indie/startup arena.
Stepping outside of gaming, ...
Im going to need some references for that claim. I suspect pc revenue is mostly people buying into nostalgia with 5 dollar retro games on steam.
If we are talking new releases for AAA games, ive not seen any evidence that pc remotely competes with console sales.
I think you are neglecting a key element here. It is called porting. It is very likely that Forza was built around all the strengths of the X1X and then ported to PC. Forza is a traditional X1 game and all the focus would be on making sure it was optimized for the X1X to showcase it. Likely it would take a more powerful PC than what is currently in the X1X simply because of being ported. It is why PC gamers always complain about the bugs and performance issues. They more often than not get po...
They can produce whatever they want. But at the end of the day purchases are based on whether people see enough value in the offering to purchase the system.
Why are they continuing to lag? Is better hardware really the only thing missing here?
I think ms still completely lacks system sellers.
This whole thread just hurts my head. Make it stop! I think everyone can agree Aaron Greenberg is full of crap. Every company has a person like that though. Maybe instead of talking about this worthless flamebait, we can talk about the biggest crap feeders from every company.
I nominate Reggie for Nintendo.
@donthate
Did you realize that the reason for Sony's breach was a windows vulnerabilty?
Unless you are saying that people should not buy an xbox because ms can't make a secure os then please hush.
Edit: fixed a typo.
From the wording its not technical or business but about legalities and about being open to lawsuit due to how their business is structured and what agreements etc are in place.
Edit: I don't say that to justify, but simply that legal issues and agreements tend to be what kills this stuff more than anything else. It is unfortunate that Sony is not in a state to be more flexible as it is a missed opportunity.
This allows them 1-2 years from now to release the incrementally updated switch(like DS) that includes minor feature updates that supports this capability without needing an adaptor. So all the people who bought the original switch can turn around and purchase the next one in more rapid succession.
The title is really misleading. There are no "Launch" games for the Scorpio. That would be completely contrary to the whole focus of all games being playable on all xbox ones. Since the Scorpio is also supposed to improve all xbox one games, technically ALL xbox one games would fit the bill. This article needs to be tossed just based on the title alone.
Davand114, is that alot?
Plus there arent going to be 2 million available on launch. If you read Reggie' statement he did a very subtle backpedal. Here are his words:
"What we’ve said publicly is that there will be 2 million units that will be shipped worldwide for the launch, essentially through month one."
So there will be 2 million consoles available for the launch(meaning available within 1 month of the release day).
...
Moldy, What I read is that 2 million would be available within the first month or 2 after release. Thats a little different from 2 million being available on release day.
The bigger impact to Zelda is the fact that everyone has to buy a switch and then Zelda on top of it. Will Zelda being a launch title affect its sales. Most likely. Will it have any meaningful impact on Horizon... Extremely unlikely.. there are 50 million gamers out there who simply have to pay the price of 1 game vs buying a console +1 game +whatever other costs are needed to.
Zelda has to be good enough to sell systems. Horizon just has to make people who have the system...
I think one thing seems kind of clear. Nintendo is targeting the DS user base who has been paying 200-250 for a DS. To a DS user who is not paying alot of attention to the market, this is a really souped up DS for just a bit more. The sad side is that Nintendo has done little to appease those who invested in the Wii U(from a business side this makes sense. small user base of 30 million while the DS base could still be upwards of or at least close to 100 million).
The big q...
No good deed goes unpunished...
You have no clue do you? I'm going to spell this out nice and easy for you. Windows servers are terrible and unreliable traditionally and even currently. They have improved, but even now are only used when security and reliability are a low priority. This is why Azure has shifted away from using Windows and now is offering Linux. Subsequently its only been in recent years that Azure has even been a contender in the cloud space in any form. Amazon is technically the big dog. I could be wro...
yeah. its really more like, the ps4 has been marginally outselling X1 every month in north america and now the past 3 months the x1 is marginally outselling the ps4 in north america.
I hate to say it, but Nintendo's history in this regard goes quite a long while back. Iwata did nothing during his tenure to stop it and thus most assuredly agreed with it.
Well just to put some context since we are not seeing it for what it likely is. Shuhei is known to be somewhat of a gamer. I'm not sure a gamer that high up in a gaming company like SIE necessarily has much need for playstation now or any streaming service in order to play games. The fact that a guy who already has direct access to most of these games and could likely get access to any game he wanted through just contacting someone and asking for a copy(or download code) is actually sayin...
