Yeah, first world problems for sure... But I don't think that it's too much to expect each generation to improve on the last in more ways than just graphics! :)
Not to start a fanboy war or anything, but the first time I put the Killzone disc in my PS4, and was playing seconds later I was really impressed... It's a real shame that it is the only game to start up that fast.
And to further annoy, it seems every damn game now needs a Day 1 patch, an...
The install times... Goddam you install times!
When I got my XB1 I also got Dead Rising 3. This was literally my first experience...
Put in disc. Click Install
Wait a bit
Get informed there's a 15GB patch. Sit and wait a lot longer
Great! The game is ready to play and will finish the download in the background
Start up the game. Realise that textures haven't loaded properly yet (pr...
The whole rarity thing is ridiculous.
If demand is there... meet the supply!
Nintendo makes zero money off scalpers buying up Little Mac and other discontinued figures - so why not get more out there to people who actually want them.
Also, I am 99% sure that if Nintendo released a new PunchOut, or other WiiU game featuring a discontinued Amiibo - I bet Nintendo will re-issue those rare models, otherwise it undermines the whole point of the in...
For me it's story and the sense of scale and 'epic-ness' that needs addressing.
I had assumed when seeing the Destiny demo game play at E3, where Fireteams battled the Walker, that it was just a tease, and we'd see battles against monsters and machines that rivalled or exceeded the Scarab from Halo 2.
But no. Everything is so small in Destiny. Even bosses are just scaled up normal minions.
I'd love a huge multi-team Stri...
I spent more time on side quests in Skyrim than I did completing the main story arc
The idea of exploring the world and finding secrets and quests is unbelievably appealing! All Zelda games have had secret bits - this just feels like they are expanding on that.
There's hundreds of ways Nintendo could make side quests a viable part of the game and provide a huge amount of fan service.
Can't wait.
I agree that Kinect 2 + VR is a killer feature, SteamPowered
The only problem I see is the cost. With MS creating a Kinect-less SKU it means anyone who bought that SKU is going to have pay significantly more for the full VR experience.
It could be argued that the type of people who buy an XB1 without Kinect are not the sort of people to buy VR - but that's not a certainty and it fragments the install base.
Also if their VR device works w...
I agree, I am still confused by where MS got the 2billion valuation from.
When you look at the turnover of Mojang before the buy out, their profit was something like 10million per year. Even if MS aggressively pushes Minecraft, I'm not sure they'll ever see that 2billion back.
And as for other Mojang titles... Scrolls is a pretty mediocre game, and everything else has been canned. Notch has stepped back - so it's unlikely that lightning will str...
Umm, sorry to disappoint, but this article is about MS not renewing Blinx... So it's now more unlikely than ever we'll see a third game.
Had totally forgotten about Vexx. Thanks for the reminder.
I was always surprised that MS didn't do more with the Blinx IP. It was an interesting concept, and I thought it was going to be MS' answer to Ratchet and Clank - but then again, considering we've never had a proper Banjo Kazooie game on Xbox (yet) it shouldn't surprise me.
It astounds me how MS could ignore so many great IP they own. What I wouldn't give for a new Blast Corps g...
Whilst other company's have done this same tech - this is the first time it's been done by a console manufacturer.
I wouldn't call it a revolution, but I think it's a sign of the future direction of the industry.
I like the amount of Lore in DA:I. I tried playing DA 1 and 2 but didn't really like them, so I missed a lot of back story and history - so if anything I'd like a bit more (optional) lore to discover everything a little easier in DA:I.
One of the things in Elder Scrolls games that blows my mind is the amount of info in the various books you can find around the land - it's crazy how much extra info is there if people want it.
Right now I don't have a great deal of trust in Sony or MS. The amount of delays and disastrous launches last year was ridiculous - I don't want a repeat of that in 2015
People trot out lists of which console has more or better exclusives - but not everyone plays every exclusive in every genre. People have faves - and if Console A releases that ONE game you want to play, then it doesn't matter if Console B has 10x the amount of exclusives.
For anyone who grew up when Populous was launched and every Bullfrog game was gold, Molyneux will always be one of the great developers and 'ideas-men'.
It's just unfortunate that what he's done in recent times (everything since Black and White), has been more hyperbole than delivery.
It's a shame, as if you gave the guy a budget of $10,000 he'd make an interesting game of 10,000 underdeveloped ideas. If you gave him a budget of $10mi...
There's definitely room for some cross-over collaboration.
I was kinda meh about Silent Hills (even with Kojima attached) - but when I found out he has been working with Guillermo del Torro and Jinji Ito my interest spiked massively as I think they can bring some new ideas to the series
A lot of game development teams are run by people who have that logical / analytical background more suited to development. The creative spark is often missing.

Thanks, but no thanks Sony. As much as I love my PS4 and PS+; PSNow does not represent value for money to me.
I see a lot of people say this, but I don't agree.
Rare were on the decline before they were sold, the talent had starter to move on, and the relationship with Nintendo had soured. StarFox Adventures was the last straw as Nintendo started meddling in what Rare was trying to do.
Nintendo laughed all the way to the bank when they offloaded Rare to MS.
I'm holding out hope that Nintendo release some new Battle maps as DLC or something.
Such a weird choice to change Battle Mode from using arenas, to using circuits. Just didn't make sense at all.
We're 2 days in to 2015, but I'd be willing to bet 'gamers' will win, as usual.
I think it's a real shame MS created a SKU without Kinect. At least when the device was in every box there was a chance a developer would really utilise it well - now devs have much less incentive to create Kinect games / features.
I am glad I got my XB1 with Kinect. It's nice to have the little things like the camera signing me in, and starting up apps via voice.
Also, Forza Horizon 2 had brilliant integration. Saying 'Anna, nearest event'...
45mins for Halo MCC.... Not sure.
The download was 18GB or so, and started at the same time as the install process - but the game was playable at about 30% progress, iirc
So, I have no idea how long it took before I started playing... but whether it was 45mins or less, it's still far too long... I do remember I made some food while waiting :)
I miss the days of plugging in cartridges :(
