There are games that I like better but if you look at it objectively, what game/games stacks up to Red Dead on all levels ( story, graphics, sound, scale, attention to detail, etc. ) ?
I'm talking about major studios. Studios that have the budget to actually create something like Red Dead. There are a few of them out there, not many though.
It's a disappointment for people who have/had unrealistic expectations for what games are capable of in 2018. Back in the real world though Red Dead 2 is probably the best game released in the past 10+ years. To me it's a throwback to when these big gaming companies actually seemed like they wanted to make a great game instead of "How can we make the most money?". Kudos Rockstar, hopefully these other companies will follow your example.
Lol, this guy honestly doesn't know business very well. Steam won't be going away as long as digital sales is such a booming market. At worst they'd be forced to sell to a huge company like Microsoft, Sony, EA, etc. and they would continue the business but prioritize their products. Steam isn't going anywhere.
For me if there is one gripe, it's the graphics. They seem to be marginally better than GTA 5 which is a 5 year old game that was built for the last generation. This isn't necessarily a game killer but it just puts that much pressure on other aspects of the game to be great when all they had to do is put a little more effort into the character models.
This article is a misnomer. The reason the katakana reads "ne-su" is because there is literally no other way to pronounce N-E-S in the Japanese language. It's still pronounced N-E-S to normal people because it's an acronym, not a formal name.
SJW's strike again. A game that can't even sell 500k copies total between PS4 and Xbox puts a huge amount of production time on women and WNBA when video games in general have very few women gamers much less women sports gamers. This just goes to show that when this whole stock bubble implodes, EA won't survive. Their business model isn't built on making a good product, it's built on appeasing SJW's.
It started the downfall of the series in my opinion. They got away from pretty much everything that made the originals so great. When you hear the back story of this game, that Capcom basically made Mikami rename another game he had planned into RE4 because they were struggling financially at the time, you realize why it was such a departure from the rest of the series. RE4 was basically a money grab from Capcom. Unrelated but I believe something similar happened with 7 ( it's trash imo )...
I gotta be honest the whole hype around Madden going to the Frostbite Engine seems more of a PR move than something that actually improves the game. The graphics difference is negligible and the game is still stuck with 10+ year old physics. I've pretty much given up on EA and Madden. They'll never really improve unless they get some kind of competition.
I gotta be honest, I don't think them "respecting the PC audience" has anything to do with it. Seems like to me with how much they've struggled with the Xbox this generation, they might quit making consoles period next generation and just push out titles to Windows PC's.
Lol, comparing 8 and 13 is like comparing apples to baseball bats. They have absolutely nothing in common with each other. I wasn't even aware that some people don't like 8 but if that is the case it's probably just because it came right after 7 which was the best in the series and one of the best of all time. Of course the next game would have a lot to live up to and for me it wasn't as good as 7 but it's still easily one of my favorites and probably in my top 10 all time...
Because it was pretty clear the game wasn't ready when it was released. Easily the worst non-MMO Final Fantasy.
It's called people not putting up with EA's sh*t anymore. They've been stuffing games with microtransactions and not really caring about the content because they streamline the dev teams and don't give them the people or money they need to actually make good games. It sucks to say since they've been around so long but at this point, they need to just be put out of business. They're doing nothing but hurting the gaming community.
No. They need to just come to the realization that this game was by far the worst in the series and move on. Go all in with the FF7 remake and make it everything that FFXV wasn't. The FF7 remake property could be worth a billion plus if done correctly considering how beloved the franchise is. Let's hope Square doesn't completely drop the ball like they did with FFXV though.
Yakuza 0 is one of the best games of all time in my opinion. Sad a lot of people won't give it a chance right out the gate because of the sub-titles.
Saying the cost of development is higher is disingenuous. Profit margins are higher. Quit screwing around with Wall Street and companies won't have this problem. I personally refuse to pay for 70+ dollar games or loot boxes.
Not in a full priced game. There are some free to play games like South Park Phone Destroyer though that I think do it the right way. Loot boxes have no place in 60 dollar games though.
So what he's really trying to say is....

One word, profit margins. The name of the game these days is to make as much money with as little spent as possible. This is the problem with these gigantic publicly traded companies like EA. It pretty much destroys any semblance of creativity or innovation. I honestly don't ever expect great games to come out of there anymore unless they somehow go back to being a private company.
I'd agree. FFXV didn't even feel like a FF game to me. It's the first FF I played but couldn't force myself to finish. It had a decent story to work with because I was pretty hyped for it after I watched Kingsglaive the prequel movie but the game itself was just lacking in so many areas. Needless to say, I'd much rather play XIII than XV.
