"Here at Ubisoft, we're focused on being as diverse and inclusive as possible! That way we can fleece everyone equally!"
I'm honestly not interested in it just for that reason. What's the point of a lot of customization if you can't even see your character? They should have gone the Bethesda route and just given players the 3rd person option and I honestly don't see an excuse at this point. They keep delaying the game. Doesn't seem like it'd be that hard to put it in the game.
Probably no more fake than Naughty Dog choosing who they want to send out free copies to for review and those people thinking they have to give a good score to stay in good standing with Naughty Dog. Not to mention the blatant shill companies like IGN. As far as I'm concerned, fake user scores just balance everything out. If you have people pissed off enough to "review bomb" your game, then you probably deserve it.
We'll see. If they look at initial sales as it being a successful game, then it will probably be successful. If they look at it in comparison to the last game ( which I'm sure the company heads are ), then I don't think it will reach that 20 million number. TLOU1 had good word of mouth and didn't split the fanbase with controversy and politics, as was said above, that probably helped the initial sales with this one but it's going to cripple long term sales.
Maybe temporarily but the success of the game is going to depend on how well it sells in the future. I just don't see it having the type of long term sales the original had.
It was always going to sell well out of the gate. I think the controversy and user scores will keep it from eclipsing the sales of the last game though.
It's one thing to have plot twists and turns but having key characters of your story get killed unceremoniously, well.... I think the GOT backlash should have taught everybody a valuable lesson. Apparently Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann didn't get the memo.
They're crippling their own player base with the file size. I was hyped for the game when I seen the first trailer, then I seen it was 100 gigs and I was like nope, I'm out. No game out there worth buying a new hard drive or deleting 3-4 games.
This is the type of content I'm here for N4G. Kudos!
It has RPG style progression and systems. That'd be like saying the new FF7 Remake isn't an RPG.
List is automatically invalid if it doesn't include Yakuza 0.
GoT = GOTY
GoT > TLoU
For me, FF8 is one of my top games of all time. No, it wasn't as highly regarded as FF7 which fans didn't know at the time that FF7 was a classic so anything less than that would have been seen as a disappointment. But for those who weren't expecting another FF7 like me, I really enjoyed it. The story is great, the music is on par with 7 and the tried and true gameplay of 7 is there but even expanded upon with things like Squall's Gunblade mechanic. I think if they were to rem...
While I do have some real problems with the way they decided to do the story in FF7R, the answer is still FF7R and it's not even close. RE3 barely feels like a standalone game.
My only gripe is apparently the enemies are scaled to the player so it doesn't make sense to grind levels and get better equipment. That was one of the funnest things in the original was get to level 99 and destroy virtually every monster in the game in a few hits or less. But overall the combat is great and if the point I just mentioned was implemented, I'd actually prefer this games combat to the original.
