I just hope this isn't gonna be the game version of Advent Children. Nomura direct that too and it was ok for what it was but it was never canon in my mind and didn't capture any of what made FF7 so great. Square's track record of adding to the FF7 story isn't great ( Advent Children, Crisis Core, Dire of Cerebus, etc. ) so I hope with as much content as they're gonna have to add, that it's good but I'm not getting my hopes up.
I'd actually be fine with them delaying the game until next-gen releases. I mean we're only talking about a few months more developing time for better graphics, frame rate and maybe even added content. Seems like a good trade off to me. I've heard from people that have played the demo that the game struggles to maintain 30fps which most likely means if it sticks to current gen, the game won't look anywhere near as good when it comes out. For a game like FFVII, I don't want...
Not too worried about the battles, it's the game outside of the battles. I think the unsung hero and what made FF7 a classic was then environment/world. The mix of Nobuo Uematsu's music with the iconic locations are as important thing to nailing FF7 as the characters and story. Not only do I hope a lot of emphasis is placed on the environments but I hope the game outside of the battles is drastically slowed down so we can appreciate them. If it has a Crisis Core feel where the environ...
Lol, Chris is in it at the very end which felt very tacked on an wasn't even necessary in the story of the game. Almost like this game was planned as something else and it wasn't til late that they decided to make it an RE title. With that said, it's a decent horror game by itself but it's absolute garbage as an RE game. This is coming from someone who's played every RE and played the original when it came out. RE7 might have been scary but the soul of the RE franchise was...
I think the rankings largely depend on how old you are and how much you value story and the games staying faithful to the originals. If you didn't play the originals when they first came out or around that time, you most likely will rate games like 4 and 7 higher than they should be. In my opinion though, those games strayed too far from the originals and in 7's case, pretty much was an RE game in name only.
I'd rank them like this.
1. RE2

The original FFVII is pretty widely available now. If you can't bother to go back and play it before the Remake, you deserve for it to be spoiled for you to be honest. Fortunately though, only certain plot points can really be spoiled. The game is so deep it's virtually impossible to spoil the entire thing for someone outside of watching like a 30 minute plus recap of it on YouTube.
So what would you say is better? I've been playing games since the early 90's and there isn't a game out there in my opinion that even comes close.
They have one of the best franchises in gaming history in Final Fantasy. I don't see why they just don't invest more in making great games in that franchise again. Pay Sakaguchi whatever he wants to get him back on board and let him head up a team with Kitase, Nomura, Nojima and Uematsu and let them create a masterpiece.
I think the 2015 Cloud body looks better. I like his 2019 face though. People have to remember, Cloud was not some super soldier in FFVII. He was a failed attempt by Hojo of creating a Sepiroth clone and he assumed the memories of Zack who was a SOLDIER first class . Cloud was just a normal member of SOLDIER so it makes sense that he wouldn't look like a super hero because he never really was. I think him being overly bulky kind of undermines his backstory.
Clearly you're in the minority. There is a reason they're remaking VII. It's because it's the best, most iconic game in the franchise and one of the best games of all time.
No, corporate greed and profit margins are what's unsustainable. It's these big publicly traded gaming companies that are ruining the industry. I don't like in game monetization but I understand it's become a part of gaming and there's probably no stopping that. What is unforgivable though is how these companies try to push out these games with the smallest dev teams and resources possible to increase their profit margin. So we all end up getting crappy, half finished game...
Was this really hard to predict when seemingly the entire selling point of this game was "Look! You can fly around the map!"? Not to mention that it was being produced by EA.
To me it's this simple, one of the most basic key elements to a game are characters. For people that that actually like RE7, I'm interested to hear which game in the series you think has the weakest characters? I can tell you for a fact it's RE7 and it's not even close.
I think the canon story in the original there were 6. So it makes sense for it to carry over in the remake.
Because just like 4, it deviated so far away from what RE is suppose to be. There wasn't even one zombie in the entire game. I'd like someone to explain to me how that is staying faithful to the franchise. Not to mention that it didn't have the feel of an RE game whatsoever. Yes, they made horror a priority again but they literally got just about everything else wrong. Not saying it's a terrible game in and of itself, I just think and I believe other long time fans think it...
Until 7 I would agree. 4 is not a bad game by any means, to me, it's just a bad RE game. It really should have never been an RE considering the backstory behind it. Funny how things work. Capcom was desperately trying to get away from the original RE style back in the day now they're desperately trying to get back to it.
I'd probably rank the RE's like this.
1. RE2
2. RE
3. RE3
4. RE0
5. RE5 ( I'd pu...
Got a 970 and was having a little lag in 4k at max settings, bumped it down to 1440 and it runs like a charm. I don't really think this is an issue for anyone with a decent graphics card.
I'd give it like a 4. It's complete trash as a RE game. By far the worst in the series in my opinion. The story was terrible, it didn't have the vibe of RE nor did it follow much of the lore whatsoever. I'm just hoping none of the bad design/story choices is gonna bleed over to RE2.
One of the worst AAA games as far as graphics, little to no story and it's a survival based game in a market that's already oversaturated with survival games that do it better. No....no one could have expected a bad reception....No one at all....
We had those questions answered in the original FF7. That's not my problem with Crisis Core though. My problem is with the whole Angeal, Genesis storylines. Those characters didn't need to exist and to me, they just cheapened and took away focus from the storyline of Zack and Cloud which is really strong.
