I've played as many Fallout's and whatnot as anybody and it doesn't even compare. This game has no real direct comparison.
Would living in a ghost infested hell hole where most of the population that actually survived lives underground and the rest that are still living above ground are either trying to cause voidouts which wipe entire cities off of the map or trying to steal everything you own be fun? I mean for better or for worse, you are IN Death Stranding's world. It's almost a slight to even call it a game. It's an experience and one I think anybody that loves great stories, great characters and...
You have to think though that a good portion of those users reviews came out in the first day or two. It's literally impossible to have beat the game by then and formed a real opinion on it. It'd be like somebody reading the first chapter of a book, saying to hell with it, giving it a crappy review and not even read 90% of it. Especially with this game. You don't even really get into the true game play loop until 5-10 hours in. I find it hard to believe anyone that's actually ...
I was thinking the same thing myself. While I don't know if I'd say it's my favorite of all time as my #1 ( FF7 ) and my #2 ( Earthbound ) carry some heavy nostalgia weight, it's definitely not far behind those.
This game literally altered my rating scale. I finally beat it yesterday and the game is so good that it's probably going to make me rate games that I love in the future lower because I just don't see many games that can compete. Easily a 10/10 for me and gets my vote for game of the generation.
Play the game. Death Stranding is no more a "walking simulator" than GTA is a "driving simulator. Yes, you do a lot of walking in the first few chapters but....
( SPOILERS )
The game basically becomes Metal Gear after that in how open the world is and vehicles and equipment you get. The reason it's getting mixed reviews is because most likely the people that rated it low never made it past the first few chapters. I haven't seen anyo...
The game is fun though. I mean yes, the first few hours are unforgiving but they are key to setting up the world and appreciating how the game opens up after chapter 3-4. It's basically a more sophisticated version of Metal Gear.
Pretty sure gamers don't mind product placement. They mind bad games. Death Stranding is a great game, that's the difference.
You won't really understand this if you haven't played both but MGSV is more fun but Death Stranding is more engaging. Basically MGSV feels like a normal game, Death Stranding feels like you're in that world. I guess it's hard to say which is better, it's pretty much down to preference or what kind of game you prefer.
Great, I hope this thing is super successful. The game is not for everybody ( l love it ) but everybody should want games like this to exist. For the crowd that constantly complains about monetization and lazy development, this game is the COMPLETE opposite of that ( Monster Energy aside, lol ). This is a very unique story, a very unique game and you can tell that not only Kojima but his team really cared about what they were working on. I hope to see more AAA games like this in the future an...
I guess I can understand it because the game is DEFINITELY not for everybody but if you want to play a game for a great, unique experience, this game does that in spades. I'm going to be totally honest, I don't think I've ever played a game like Death Stranding. It really feels like you're in a movie or you're actually Sam Porter Bridges which I think is what Kojima was going for. The game definitely has flaws but IT IS NOT A BAD GAME. I'm about 6 hours in and I'm ...
Man I want to like this game so much because I've played all the Metal Gears outside of MGS4 and love them. But I haven't seen a video of gameplay yet that makes me think that this game is going to actually be fun and engaging for the 30-40 hours or whatever it takes to beat. A good story can only take you so far. Gameplay has to be the backbone of the game and if it's all just walking from place to place and getting better upgrades to help you walk/travel better, I just don't...

Here's a better list.
1. FF7
2. EarthBound
3. Chrono Trigger
4. FF Tactics
5. FF8
Yakuza 0 > That whole top 25
It's funny Yuke's used to get blamed for the sad state that the game was in before. Now, the truth comes out. Yuke's was the only thing holding that dumpster fire of a game together. This statement makes more and more sense every day.

Obviously you didn't pay attention to the demonstration. You can literally play it just like the old game. The only real difference is there are no random encounters and the battle camera isn't a fixed view anymore....THAT'S IT. With the classic mode, all you're doing is controlling the menu like you were in the original. You only press one but to attack and you don't have to move the character. I don't see how "fans" are STILL complaining after they took the...
Decent game just wish it was longer. I appreciate the 30 dollar price tag but I wouldn't mind paying 60 for a 10+ hour adventure. Didn't think the story was quite as strong as Until Dawn's but that intro is probably one of the best intros to a game I've ever seen. If you haven't had a chance to check it out just Youtube "Man of Medan intro".
I like the prospect of bringing back turn based combat to games but it just seems wrong to do it with a game like Yakuza that has/had one of the best battle systems out there already.
If anyone hasn't watched the Alan Wake mini-series that they put out with the original, do yourself a favor, drop what you're doing and GO WATCH IT NOW. If they follow a similar story/feel for the 2nd game as that mini-series, it's gonna be one of the best horror games in years.
All I'll say is that I was the same way before I played it. I debated whether or not I was going to buy it after watching some stuff online and hearing some reviews but I said to hell with it and bought it anyway. Even a few hours in I wasn't sure if I liked it yet but now at 50+ hours and beating the game, I can officially say that it's one of my favorite games of all time. Take that for what you will. If you want quick gratification, go play Apex. If you want a game that's g...
