I’m sure it will be top notch albeit familiar. There’s nothing wrong with that IMO but following up GOW 2018 is a huge task. The game is really special because they managed to revamp everything and come out even better.
Thank God for Deathloop today because this Fall is a bit lackluster.

Yeah this and Wolverine are Sony’s two biggest system sellers. Sony will not release either until PS5 is easy to get that’s for sure.
And that’s exactly what Sony is banking on. What will sell systems more than an exclusive Marvel game? Nothing. SM2 and Wolverine are Sony’s two biggest PS5 games that are in development right now. People will definitely get a PS5 for those two games and neither will be released until PS5’s are easier to get.
No gameplay as satisfying as a GOW game.
If you haven’t noticed there has been a HUGE push for diversity in gaming in the past five years. LGBTQ characters have been pushed into so many games. TLOU 2 and Horizon being the biggest examples I can think of. Nothing wrong with it IMO but it’s very evident.
Yeah true. It just seems weird to me. The game is in a Nordic setting with not one mixed race person seen in the first one. Now all of a sudden we have a Norse giant who is black. I’m not racist in the slightest it just doesn’t make sense to me in the story.
It will hold back the games a little because you have to develop to accommodate the lowest performing consoles. Graphically, you won’t see much of a difference because of cross gen but it’s more so in the performance and number of things going on onscreen.
And I somewhat agree on the exclusive thing, but us PS gamers shell out money for the new console on the impression that these huge exclusives like GOW will be next gen and fully take advantage of the new hardware. But ...

Sony has a pretty stacked release calendar for the next couple of years with five of these games being timed exclusives. Forspoken will be exclusive for at least two years. This is also barring no surprises as I’m sure there is more for the 2023/2...

Yes! Excited to play it for the first time since I’ve always been on Playstation. And this pretty much guarantees a sequel will be announced in the near future, probably next year sometime.
A lot of people are blaming the pandemic and lack of PS5’s on Sony going cross-gen, but I’d say that’s not the case. The games have been in development for years and most of the development will occur on PS4 to account for the lowest denominator.
May make sense since they’re developing a new game combining Alan Wake and Control.
Spider Man MM and Sackboy both released when the pandemic was nearly at its thickest. So I can see why they tried to not offer a free upgrade. But it’s nice he is sticking to his word and it’s the right thing.

That’s the only negative I could think of happening. It may be criticized a little for being familiar but hey I’m not complaining and I’m sure there will be enough changes to satisfy me.
