Ghost of Yotei comes out this year and Saros and Wolverine have both been stated to be releasing in 2026.
Wolverine has been leaked to be a 2026 release and Intergalactic will probably also come out in 2026. So there’s two that we already know about for that year.
Next year is GOY, Death Stranding 2, and the MGS3 remake most likely.
I think COVID is really what caused many of the issues we are seeing in the current generation. For instance, COVID is ultimately what caused PS5 shortages at the beginning of the generation due to supply chain and semiconductor issues. This led to cross-gen releases of most of Sony’s first party titles.
It’s not coming out until 2026 let’s face it. Very unlikely it will make its original release window. An extremely high profile game without any delays? Yeah right.
The game won’t release until the tail end of this generation if not the beginning of the next. High profile games released at the end of a generation usually always have a definitive version for the next gen. Clearly showcasing it was meant for next gen consoles.
I bet this will release at the end of the PS5 generation in 2027.
The problem is tearing players away from games like Fortnite. There are already established games in the live service games industry and I believe studios have lost their window to capitalize on live service games. It’s extremely unlikely for Sony to ever make a live service game that is as profitable as Fortnite, Warzone, or GTA online. Far too many established players in the live service game to even properly compete against them.
They want one money printing live service game so they can take a seat and coast like Rockstar games. Ever since GTA online became a massive money printing machine studios have been chasing the live service train. Sony promises they aren’t giving up on single player games but you can bet that if they ever have a cash cow like GTA online they will make significantly fewer single player games than now.
There’s exactly 7 that I can think of. Zero, 1, 5, 6, Code Veronica, and Revelations 1+2. The last two are the most unlikely though. I really want a Dino Crisis remake.
Id bet good money GTA 6 won’t release until April 2026 at the earliest. It could even be Fall 2026 with their history.
They were most likely thinking about PS6 when they released the PS5 back in 2020. That’s typically how it goes.
Definitely not regretting my preorder.
Hopefully the PS5 Pro doesn’t sell well so that they won’t even try to price the PS6 at the same price. Because after this I feel that the PS6 will be in the same price range.
Character models look better, but parts of the environment look better in the original imo
If things continue the way they are now then PlayStation will be the next Xbox. But it’s typical with PlayStation. Every other gen they do really well and then get cocky and make horrible, arrogant decisions the gen after.
The PS5 Pro just isn’t worth it imo until we hear more about what games Sony has in the future. All we know of is Wolverine. Naughty Dog’s next game will probably come at the tail end of this gen and release on PS6 also. Although if GTA 6 runs significantly better on the Pro that may change my opinion.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is definitely the best but Legend should come in as a close second.
I don’t foresee GTA VI being featured at the Game Awards. The trailer comes out December 5th and Rockstar usually doesn’t partake in big gaming events. With that being said pretty much everything else will feel mundane coming off of the GTA VI trailer.
All executives are greedy. It’s only getting worse as time goes on.
GTA 6 will be the saving grace this gen hopefully.
