Yeah but this gen the competition is a lot tougher. M$ has more money to compete with Sony and Sony is pretty much flat out broke. Thats the reason why Sony can't advertise their games. The PS3 is also the highest priced console out right now. Last gen the PS2 was 299 and so was the Xbox, GC was cheaper than both but just didn't have the games. This gen is completely different from last. Sony will need to pull a miracle to win this gen.

The 360s video service was up way before the PS3 video service.
I knew Sony and its engineers couldn't wait til NXE came out so that they can find what they will copy next on the 360. But good luck getting a rental video service Sony only took almost 2 years to have ingame XMB/trophies/background music working on their supercomputer/DVD player.
A game can be flop in both sales or scores. LBP had great reviews but flopped in sales. Too Human got bad reviews but still was able to sell a million plus. Now if you were a developer and a publisher which would you rather have? Which will make you more money? Of course how many units you sell and the more that you sell the more money you can make to develop your next game. You can have a great game but if nobody buys it how are you going to pay your workers and feed your family?

I dont think M$ counts consoles that they replace as a sale. I'm pretty sure there are alot of people who bought new 360s though because they got from xbl, 360 broke without the RROD, better system from HDMI and if you want to take out those consoles sold then Sony should also stop counting PS2 sales that had problems with the laser, owners who upgraded to the PS2 slim, PS2s that just broke in general and weren't covered by a 3 year warranty like MS does.
