I wish more people would stop buying these ridiculous 'DLC Map Packs'. It only encourages companies to keep charging $10 for 3-4 maps. If Activision tried this through PC they'd just get laughed at.

Oh, and I'm so happy that they announced a DLC Map Pack months in advance to when the game actually comes out instead of including it in the $60 you just spent. Which, again, is confusing to me considering that I can't believe their are any self-respecting console gamers that would...

Yeah if Sony tries to implement a subscription fee for the online gaming components in the middle of this generation, they're losing a customer. I actually like to access the things that I pay for.

This generation there haven't been many games worth buying at the launch price. The majority of games, even if they're good games, don't deserve anything over a rental considering that every aspect of said game can be beaten in a weekend's time. The few fantastic games this gen (with replay value) tend to also be the shortest ones.

Games were already expensive at $50.00 and the $60.00 price never helped even before the economy went downhill. Renting and used games are definite...

"Connect for free."

Yeah, that isn't misleading at all.

I'm not going to even consider buying this game unless I have access to a demo. What the hell are game companies thinking.

Overall the PS3 needs an update that makes the PSN and other key features as cohesive as XBL presents them.

For developers, mandatory inclusion of In-game Screenshot support, YouTube uploading/small video recording ability, a universal In-Game Music feature for all games (an OS feature), and overall aesthetics of the interface which includes icon loading times, notification messages, automatic Trophy sync, etc;

SImply put, Sony needs to dish out the "New Playst...

When people say that 1 TB sounds a bit too much, they don't mean that it's too much for the consumer to fully utilize. What is being stated is that for Microsoft to produce a 1 TB sized HDD for each console they make, that's probably a considerable amount more spent than what they are doing now for the standardized 120 GB HDD.

Speaking of which, I can't imagine how much it will cost someone to purchase that MS/360 branded 1 TB HDD.

This is just an example of criticism for a company's actions. A similar article could be brought up for both Sony and Nintendo or even any large developer like EA or Activision.

While the tone of the article probably won't resonate well with Xbox 360 fans and put others off completely, the author merely pointed out the pitfalls of MS's business strategies that are usually overlooked.

The primary bullet-points in the article are quite simply true. From the theme p...

It's not entirely improbable that Dead Space: Extraction would appear elsewhere. There's a good chance that it will be ported to the PS3 as a full download through PSN or retail when the 'PS Wand' arrives.

I'm sure by now Sony (and Microsoft, no doubt) are working closely with big developers like EA to use their respective motion technology so at least a few titles are up and running before the holiday season.

For DS: Extraction though, it seems less likely for 'P...

Yeah I agree just because some games are built very well with the controller in mind. Both Gears of War titles and Halo 3 are such games. I wouldn't want to play them on the PS3 if I could already play them on the 360.

I personally don't think the Gears of War titles are as great as everyone makes them out to be. If it came out for the PS3 I still wouldn't buy it.

I had fun playing through the Campaigns on both but they're not quite great enough to warrant a purchase (if I did own a 360).

This is the biggest gripe I have with Sony. They always fall short of being able to have one more checkmark against the competition. Screenshot capture is very cool and all Sony has to do is implement it into the PS3 as an OS feature. The same goes for YouTube uploading. While more difficult to do for both developers and consumers, it should have been a mandatory OS feature/developer feature such as Trophies.

The only thing that I'm happy about for the sequel is that they smoothed out Nathan's movements when climbing/jumping/swinging in the game. That's the only thing I found at fault with the first game.

That's a problem though. Those two things you mentioned are not the embodiment of Xbox Live. This is a common misconception that proponents of Live have when they engage in an intellectual debate of PSN vs. Live (this only happens about 1/1,000,000,000 times on the web).

When comparing both services, the two primary components to compare are the quality and accessibility of the online interactions that are gaming associated. Not 'exclusive' features or applications such as Net...

Halo 2 (Campaign/Story)
Halo 3 (Campaign/Story)
Final Fantasy X-2
Kingdom Hearts II (wasn't nearly as good as the first/ Triangle QTE's)
Resident Evil 5 (practically the entire thing, it's like they didn't even try to surpass RE 4 on any characteristic. Note to the wise, I'm the largest RE fan in the world. Don't argue this point with me. You WILL lose.)

Resistance 2 (Horrible. It's like they completely neglected what they established in R:FoM. I mea...

To the first post, even though I dislike Microsoft's business decisions in the gaming market all gamers should understand that competition is a good thing... even though Sony has been kind of slow in responding to the Xbox 360's continuing feature list. Here's hoping to a big FW 3.0.

I played Twisted Metal for PS1 (emulation on PC, maybe not a PS1 game, someone correct me) and it didn't seem that great. A bunch of cars with guns on them and it's deathmatch. Maybe it's just because I didn't grow up playing it.

Seriously, can someone explain to me in detail the consequences in getting a BD to play at 1080p, 60 fps? Like how is this good for the Blu-ray market down the road, the Playstation 3, gaming, movies, etc;

Laman's terms please.
