Don't worry guys. We'll begin having dynamic custom themes before the year is over as soon as Sony releases an update for the custom theme construction.
I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of popular static themes being transformed.
I've yet to see it for myself, but it sounds like a lot of the issues the author had were more aesthetic issues. The different boot up jingle wasn't really an improvement, and after hearing it in a video it's a 'downgrade' from the original orchestra sound.
In terms of the Friends tab, apparently it's a pointless change that makes it look clunky. I've been seeing negative feedback from other sites about this. Maybe they are planning to show Trophy info in those boxes later? <...
Playing games online is not a premium service, especially when you already paid for it in full.
As for the article, I can come up with numerous reasons as to why Xbox Live is not worth the price (as some have already done in this thread). Naturally, I'm wrong due to the larger popularity of the Xbox 360.
Live is far from being classified as nickel-and-dime pricing. It's ridiculous.
And you're right. Sony doesn't nickel-and-dime PSN users.
If the features were something unique to the Xbox 360 I could understand making it a Gold Membership only situation.
It's situations like these that make me wonder why people view Live as spectacular. You can't even play your game online after paying full price for it. Nothing compensates for this.
Nothing.
As a side note, if you don't take the time to spell correctly or to make a constructive argument, then I'm not going to take the time to read your input let alone consider you intelligent enough to make sense.
If you're 16 or older you should feel ashamed of yourself for misspelling simple words like 'accept'. Tip o' the hat to Nexy. Couldn't make a point without him/her.
Fantastic advertising.
Sony does seem to be on a roll already and the Slim hasn't even "officially" launched yet. Combined with Microsoft dropping the ball with excluding an HDMi cable with Elite systems and raising the Arcade price in the UK, it looks like things have only started to heat up.
Console DLC is cancer.
Everyone who has been buying these map 'packs' needs to start PC gaming so they understand the contempt. $10 is a steal... for Activision. Stop buying this stuff and the developers will charge reasonable prices in the long run.
I'm not putting much hope into this. It would definitely be a nice addition to the PS3 library (even though I personally don't enjoy the game).
At least PS3 owners can enjoy the small gold nuggets that are Braid and Castle Crashers instead.
No. Petitions barely have any influence. First of all, we actually need SOLID EVIDENCE that the rumor is true, let alone if EA is 'responsible'.
If anything, we need to send e-mails to the major gaming sites/networks pressuring them to write articles about the issue which would have a MUCH larger effect than a petition. Sony and other developers comment all the time due to controversial statements made by gaming sites.
At the very least, the articles would be inte...
My question is why he capitalized the 'B' in "Big" when it was in the middle of the sentence? Just a typo?
Anyway, as far as trusting anyone on the internet goes, Super_Secret has me convinced. I REALLY want to get to the bottom of this. More gaming sites need to press the issue and try and get some pressure on EA or Sony for information.
And yet Sony still doesn't realize how bad the XMB looks in terms of aesthetics when the icons need time to load (main and in-game).
Static vs. Dynamic. Get on it Sony.
Phew! That was a close one! Good thing I know your opinion is better than his or else I would have gone and thought the PS3 was the best console to date!
I completely agree with the review of the 3.0 FW (as it has been announced). Small perks that are cool, but mostly it's just a way for Sony to expose the customer to the PS Store's advertising of content. I really didn't need two more Playstation Store icons on my XMB. I can get to it in two button presses.
As another article put it, this firmware update 3.0 (as is) receives a 'C' rating. Nice small little perks, but there is absolutely nothing that 90% of PS3 owners have been asking for to improve PSN. Cross Game Chat and Invites? The Party system that Sony promised to AT LEAST be available through Home? Any improvements are good ones in my book, but Sony needs to get its act together if they want to KEEP competing directly with Microsoft's Xbox 360.
Besides that rant, when bot...
You should probably change your name to:
"I'm_an_ignorant_consume r"
or better yet:
"I_Bend_OvEr_4_Activisio n"
You're logic is great, but you're missing one key ingredient that makes your argument caput.
The consumer. You. Me. Everyone.
Yes, a raise in price will give Activision more money which then could potentially allow them to venture into new IP's. However, the best way to make more profit is not to charge the customer more but to make those ventures into new IP's with the expectation of landing another hit. If they take the risk of a new IP, the developer WILL tr...
Or just buy from a used games store...
I've gone from being a gamer that always buys the game that I know I'll like for new to a gamer that rents and buys from used games stores.
Most games worth playing these days are very short and can be beaten within a rental anyway. It saves so much money, you get your enjoyment, and you can also stick it to <corporation name here> in the process.
This has nothing to do with the article, but is anyone else seeing slanted gray bars across their vision after visiting the linked site?
I look at my screen and everything in my room and it's all distorted.
