I wonder how many of the new PS3 owners are fans of the MGS series or just curious.
Personally, I felt MGS 4 was mostly made for the long time fans of the series. Considering that I am amongst that group, the game is spectacular. However, for first time goers they may find it kind of underwhelming (thus the fanboy attachment of watching a movie instead of playing a game).
More PS3 owners is good all around, though.

Considering that neither of us has played Uncharted 2 in its entirety, we can't assume the game's actually quality until we play it. Personally, I am an Uncharted fan. The first title was excellent but it also had its share of 'imperfections' considering it was a new IP.

Why is everyone proclaiming ODST to be significantly worse now that there are glitches? Last time I checked, this isn't the first game to have a glitch to be able to walk outside of the main map area(s).

I know the visual style is non-realistic but I'm going to say that so far they are the best. It isn't as good as Toy Story yet, but Insomniac is on their way.
Halo: Combat Evolved is/was easily a 9.0+ game.
Halo 2 = 8.0
Halo 3 = 7.5
And those scores are based entirely on the campaign's quality. I predict that ODST will be better than Halo 3's and be about an 8.0. It is an add-on after all, albeit an extremely expensive one.

Everything you just said resonates with me. I was expecting the same thing out of Resistance 2 but it left me so disappointed compared to its prequel.
Of course, we haven't played ODST but so far it doesn't look inspiring in the least. I will say however, that it's almost impossible to make a bad game. Yes, some games don't deliver like we hoped and others may be broken, but most of those same games are still somewhat enjoyable to play through.
Based off of the videos, it just looks exactly the same as Halo 3. The only difference is that you don't have a high jump anymore and your hand(s) is now the skin of an ODST. In my opinion, Halo: ODST is only going to be good based off of the main plot/story progression. I can't judge until I play the game myself but I'm hoping it will be better than Halo 3's campaign that is about a 7.5/10.0.

I want a confirmation once and all for how Microsoft counts its sales. Does Microsoft count the number of consoles that they ship to retailers/refurbished units/etc; instead of just the actual units bought by individuals?
Until more solid data comes out, there are a couple of things that everyone needs to take into consideration.
1.) After a decent amount of time, the PS3 sales WILL decrease. All this means is that once the Slim was released at a very good price point, many people (clearly) purchased the console giving us these huge numbers. Kind of like a new console's launch day.
