that's fair then. but on the other hand, its important to not dismiss those who do choose the platform who do care for those things. Just in the same way how the PS4 doesn't cater for all my needs as a gamer, the switch seems to compensate for them. and visa-versa.

That's certainly the case at the moment. Story may change in a year when a few more games have landed, but there are some really good games on the other consoles, especially ps4, which would mean if i had to make the choice between only owning one of the three consoles, i would personally choose ps4. However, I am lucky enough to own both ps4 and switch. really enjoying my gaming at the moment

The thing is, the Switch is getting some huge games that neither Ps4 of xbox1 are getting too. If i want to play mario games i need a nintendo console. if i wanna play sony exclusives i need a ps4. If I wanna play the couple xbox exclusives, then i will buy a PC :-) as all new xbox games are comping to windows. and if i wanna play the very best version of a 3rd party, i also need a pc.

All evidence suggests the switch will actually improve in sales once supply can keep up with demand. This is a good thing, even for Sony fanboys, as it will mean Sony will have to keep pushing its own offerings. Microsoft seems to be failing as of late, so Sony needs stiff competition to keep up its game,

I think it would be a good idea if Nintendo abandoned the idea of having games that have to work both hand held and portable, and then released an upgraded dock to improve the performance to scorpio levels.
this way, you would have some games that you play on the go and docked, and some you play docked. this would give the consumer a lot of flexibility and be a cheaper way of giving people access to both styles of play.

I thought about playing Skyrim again recently on my pc all modded up, but decided against it as I will enjoy it more playing on the switch while sat on my sofa sat next to the gf.

Still early days. I love my Switch and I am really happy to see it selling so well. I think 15 mill first year is probably achievable considering mario is coming just b4 xmas. The second sales will be key as the trend will be more apparent by then. Nintendo need to smash E3 and show what we can look forward to beyond xmas. A few surprises for this year, like a smash port and some big VC titles will cement a strong finish for this year
Resident evil 7 is on the way mate. Capcom already said they have the engine running on switch and now optimising for running the game when its undocked.
its been well documented that online services are set for an overhaul this year, with a paid service similar to the competition coming in fall.
the switch can run top tier games, on the go. Graphics aren't everything pal, and if they are then PC is the way to go as my gaming pc rig smashes anything that Xbox or PS4 can do.
