That's a random comment considering my 1st post doesn't mention anything about "crying". Thanks for sharing, though.
EDIT: I agree with most everything you're saying - especially about how as separate companies Squaresoft and Enix made great games.
As for the complaining about complainers comment... well call it what you will. I'm making an observation that FFXIII is the rallying call for fanboys. In this case it's Sony fanboys.

I would imagine that the CBHD sales are high because the format can be easily pirated. Contrast that with Blu-Ray which has been cracked but is more difficult and more expensive to reproduce.
The Chinese may be buying up the players but I can guarantee that the vast majority of the movies the typical consumer buys will be forgeries.
Who cares less about the graphics in the game and more about what the game play and combat mechanics will be like? Or how about a decent storyline?
I've been playing FF games since the NES days and have stayed with the series through the good and the bad. SE is in a slump and it's not because they make games with bad graphics - it's because they can't make a game with a good story because they're so preoccupied satisfying the graphics whores.
The PS3 fanboys scream...
Lists never get old! I wish someone would create one consolidated super long "Top" list! /sarcasm
But aside from some neat games like Galcon everything on my iPhone controls for crap. I do love it for Soduku may a little Labyrinth, the occasional Bejewled game. But real games aren't on phones, imo.
If it makes the game load faster or improves the experience in any way then I welcome a mandatory install.

Especially considering that Finland is generally regarded as a tech savvy nation. I wonder what the typical price for a Blu-Ray player or Blu-Ray movie is in Finland? I bet there is a correlation.
As for the Blu-Ray haters - you're living a lie out of spite (for Sony or for the demise of HD-DVD). Blu-Ray is the definitive choice for an informed consumer especially in comparison to digital download.
and have a hard time believing any reasonable person could agree to what the author proposes.
"If we really want to unleash the power of the current generation of gaming hardware, we should encourage publishers to charge whatever they want for new games."
This guy has basically convinced himself that game priced higher than the current $60 would eliminate the need for DLC and somehow unlock developers/publishers "true potential". Right. And $200 ...
I was going to buy my sister a laptop this summer for use in the fall when she starts college. Though I'm holding off until Windows 7 releases. I just want her to skip Vista altogether.
Come the release I'll be upgrading my PC to Win 7 as well.
I've used OSX and I genuinely like that OS along with Apple products - I have a 3G iPhone, bought my sister and dad each their own iTouch's, have owned various other Apple products - but the price they want for their PC hard...
It has it's share of problems - at least on the PS3. For one thing the mics are broken. I don't understand how DICE/EA could have released another BF game with broken mics on the PS3 after the exact same problem had to be patched in BFBC.
The squad system is a mess and even if you invite a friend to join your squad eventually you'll wind up on the opposite teams forcing a re-invite.
I think the game could use a couple more maps. How about Tarawa, Philippines, Okina...
But I thought the original Beyond Good & Evil was absolutely average. I think it's a classic case of hype surpassing the actual product. The game was quirky and campy but the story and setting never really grabbed me like I expected it to.
The announcement will be Chrono Cross for the DS or some equally lame announcement.
I'm not even going to get my hopes up for a completely new Chrono game for the PS3/X360... I'm just not going there.
Heck at this point I'd settle for Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross on PSN/XBL. Maybe that's the announcement.
Microsoft has become Sony...
Let's see has Microsoft produced a console that sold in excess of 100 million units let alone 2 consoles to achieve that feat? No...
Did Microsoft lure 3rd party developers to their console by the sheer popularity and social acceptance of their gaming system? Hmm, again no. Actually Microsoft used their deep pockets and checkbook to lure a lot of their support. Strange.
Has Microsoft funded numerous development studios to co...
Damn good update! KZ2 and Wipeout are a must. I'm a little tired of the tower defense games - already have Savage Moon and Pixel Junk Monsters. Though this being SE's first PS3/PSN game I feel compelled to support them. I also hope Shatter has a demo.
As I've always enjoyed the hectic recovery/rebuilding after a random natural disaster in Sim City games. Or building up a city and then raining down pestilence like an unruly god. Good times.
So what if Toshiba is reluctantly rolling out a Blu-Ray disc player? How is that going to force MS to enter a market they have no desire to support? It's pretty clear MS is betting the farm on digital downloads not on Blu-Ray.
"The visionaries that once generated $1 billion of revenue off of a single game, sold in a bankruptcy court for just $33 Million. From Redball to Mortal Kombat, it’s been a hell of a ride."
It's a sad ending to a storied developer who's games I grew up playing. Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam, Space Invaders, Asteroid, etc.
That will likely never be more than and idea. I can picture it now, every gamer who invested $10 clamoring for features...

And have been to China 3 times for business trips and know better than to think the average Chinese person is going to pay "$7.50" USD for a CBHD disc - around 51 Yuan - when the average monthly take home pay is less than 1000 Yuan.
The reality is that pirated movies, software and games are sold almost everywhere in China. Heck even established retail outlets that I've been to I've seen pirated versions of Windows and video games. And these pirated items are selling to ...
