Is one of my favorite early PS3 games. A bit short but incredible graphics, motion-capture and voice over work! I was disappointed Sony opted out of a sequel... at least for the time being. I'll definitely check out any game made by Ninja Theory.
He should spend less time talking up his games and more time actually just trying to make a good game. Fable 1 & 2 are amusing but not the revolutionary games Pete hyped them to be.

Yep he's content to keep pushing the franchises Activision has because they'll sell. Personally I'll buy Starcraft II and Diablo III new. MW2 I'll pick up from the bargain bin. Not at all interested in another GH game.
Don't get me wrong the announced improvements are nice. Dynamic themes and new avatars is great as are improvements to the look and feel of the XMB and friends list. But this seems more like an incremental update rather than a large update that "3.0" denotes. For 3.0 I was expecting something huge like cross-game chat, the return of PS2 BC and PS2 games available for download via the PSN.
Still happy to have the improvements.
Took a bit to get these features but they're there now and I'm stoked. Keep up the good work Sony!

However, if having a "flat price without account for quality" is unfair to the developer/publisher and "flies in the face of basic economics", then it's important to recognize that this principle should work in both directions.
Shorter games, games with less graphical quality, games that offer fewer features, and receive lower review scores should be priced lower as well if we're going by "basic economics" and using quality as a pricing gauge.
I take whatever Molyneux says with a grain of salt. At least in this article he isn't hyping anything.
Simple. The PS3 is more reliable as is the Wii. Most X360 exclusives are also on the PC so that's also an option.
The argument in the article is valid. It doesn't matter that "technology has advanced" because today's consoles are using new tech compared to the N64/3DO. Sure the components fall in price over time - that's why we see console prices come down.
You should also take into account that almost every other consumer good has risen in price whilst video games have been relatively frozen. You could label this "inflation"... and if you compare consumer price indexes ...
Many games are approaching or have already topped the $100 mark. Burnout Paradise & Fallout 3 for example (assuming you bought the games at $60). MMO players have been paying more than $100 for their games (including monthly dues) for years.
However, the short answer is "No". I'm not willing to pay $100 upfront for a game - any game (peripheral games excluded).

And have XBL Gold membership along with regularly using the PSN for gaming and purchasing content. I paid $40 for 13/months of XBL Gold and at this point I think the service is worth the price for me. Sure Sony has done a lot of playing catch-up with the PSN but it's still not quite where it needs to be.
Netflix integration is huge for me and ultimately the deciding factor for getting XBL Gold. Sony would rather push the expensive and DRM-laden PSN Video Store over forming partn...
From this point forward if I do buy and Activision game it'll be used. Either from a retailer like GameStop/EBGames or from EBay. I try and buy new as much as possible as I believe in supporting dev's/pub's that I like. But after Kotick's latest remarks Activision is no longer a developer that I'd like to support.

I wonder if you guys have played Condemned 2: Bloodshot or Siren: Bloodcurse. Both of those games are way scarier than Dead Space. Don't get me wrong, DS had it's moments but overall it wasn't edge-of-your-seat, white knuckle terror.
Where the hell are Wipeout HD, Super Stardust HD, Pixel Junk Monsters/Eden and Savage Moon?
How they could even mention PAIN in any "top" list is beyond reason.
All-in-all this is a pretty terrible list.
I won't be purchasing any items for my X360 avatar using MS Points or any other real world currency.
A better system would be to reward players with these nifty extras whenever achievements/trophies are earned. Similar to how certain games on the PS3 are rewarding items in Home.
usually involve using the tilt feature or some sort of screen tapping - Doodle Jump, Galcon, etc. Outside of that I've found games on the iPhone to be lacking due to the controls. Assassin's Creed control interface was interesting but frustrating and not as well implemented as a standard controller interface. I think iPhone mobile gaming and PSP/DS mobile gaming can coexist due to the control differences. The iPhone for a more light fare and the PSP/DS for a more serious gaming session.
Since I'll be buying both! :)
I'm one of those unfortunate souls that has consistent problems connecting to online games in FP. When I have gotten online the game is absolute fun and deserving of it's near perfect review score. Once Titan releases the patch I'll agree with the review score.
My favorite quote: "Also, based on several game reviews I have read, the PS3 often suffers graphical glitches in its games that Microsoft's Xbox 360 simply does not."
How is that for a slant?
And here I thought PC World was somewhat respectable.
