Interesting. So is it wireless or does it plug into the GC ports (I can't imagine this thing making use of motion-sensing)?
I think a PS2 w/ some sort of wand will really need a killer app similar to WiiSports to even compete. Of course, the concept of WiiSports has now been out for a while now so I don't think a similar game on the PS2 can generate the same volume of buzz and demand.
By Christmas time, the Wii will have far more games utilizing the motion-sensing and IR functionality of it's controller than this new PS2 will be able to muster. The question is whether the PS2's current, non-wand...
Just remember that the US won't get to play Mario Strikers until the end of July. >=(
I wouldn't expect this news story to come from a site called 360-gamer.com
"and keep up with the 1,500 to 2,500 Xbox 360s arriving at its doors on a daily basis, according to customer reports."
Customer reports?
Man, yet another game that I have to save $ for... lol.
NiGHTS was released for the Saturn, not the Dreamcast. Interestingly enough, if the Saturn were more successful as a console, the Dreamcast probably would have seen the first NiGHTS sequel as the Dreamcast controller is similar to the one packaged w/ the Saturn version of NiGHTS.
I think that's the phazon suit. Looks pretty cool to me. Hmm... August'll be here in no time =)
Perhaps the increased demand for the game created by all the publicity will help offset some of this cost?
The first online Wii game I'll be playing will most likely be Mario Strikers, which comes out at the end of July. Never been a big Pokemon fan.
The upcoming FFIV remake is the main reason I now own a DS. So in my case, SquEnix has also managed to sell a console w/ their remakes/ports/spin-offs.
Wouldn't it make more sense to remake older games because the console that they originally appeared on had much lower specs? A remake of FFVI (FFIII in the US) for the SNES would show a greater jump in technology than a remake of FFVII for the PS1. Plus, most ppl who played FFs before FFVII know that FFVI had a better story, better character development, a better musical score, and more fluid gameplay.
If Sony wants devs to make more creative titles for the PSP instead of just PS2 ports, they shouldn't have designed the PSP to be a handheld version of a home console in the first place.
Are you implying that it's not industry progression because their primary focus is on profitability, or because they've chosen to shift development resources to consoles which you deem technologically inferior?
I don't think he's saying that they don't take the Wii seriously, he's saying that many titles on the 360 and PS3 require far larger expenditures than Wii games, which is something everyone already knew.
The point he's trying to make I think, is that market segmentation is what will bring success in today's diverse videogame industry.
I'm interested to see how this game scores on the other consoles. Rayman was a MUCH better game on the Wii than on the other consoles
I too would give this guy bubbles if I could. "Next-gen" is the most loaded and ill-defined buzzword ever created in the gaming industry. Ppl are always arguing about what is considered "next-gen" simply because the term is so ambiguous.
Get off technology's nuts and concern yourself w/ the games already.
It still doesn't make golf any more exciting for me.
Anyone remember Burning Rangers for the Saturn?
Good point, I'm trying not to read so many "this is what will be at E3 '07" articles not only so I don't feel disappointed if it doesn't meet my expectations, but also because I like to be pleasantly surprised.
Sadly, any PSP game can be done better on the PS2 because the PSP is simply a portable version of a home console. Adding a 2nd analog stick to the PSP would solidify its place in that category. The DS is trouncing the PSP because it offers an experience beyond that of a "dumbed-down" home console.
EDIT:
I agree, all of those changes would make the PSP a far more attractive gaming device, but I personally don't feel that being portable is enough of a reaso...
