You answered your own question. It's a first-person ADVENTURE. The focus is on exploration rather than on shooting things. Of course, I wouldn't expect you to be able to think outside of the FPS-box that you've been in, especially if you've never played previous Metroid Primes or the horrible MP2 multiplayer.

This is the age in which kids start worrying about "being cool", so having M-rated games makes them that much more popular among other kids. This would also seem to be the age at which kids start to feel like they're "too cool" for things such as the Wii, or believe that the Wii is "just for kiddies." I always hear kids say it, never adults.
How could Metroid Prime be Nintendo's flagship FPS if it isn't even an FPS?
I understand where you're coming from but I don't think devs should add a feature to a game just because they can, especially if a similar feature implemented in one of their previous games detracted from the overall quality of that game.
I think the problem is that everyone expects the game to have features of a typical FPS (such as online play) just because the gameplay resembles that of an FPS. Retro has stated in the past that the MP series are adventure games, not shooter...
Did anyone who expects online multiplayer even play multiplayer in MP2? It was horrible because MP is not an FPS, it's an FPA. That is the exact reason why MP3's focus is on single-player.
Even less surprising are the trolling posts of those who only comment on Wii news if the news story can be made out to have a negative connotation.
If this is true, this game will set the bar for tight controls on the Wii. I'm psyched to say the least.

The fact that Final Fantasy VI wasn't even on the list makes it a downright failure. FFVI > FFVII
Sounds like this game may finally offer controls that accurately process the game player's swinging trajectory/direction and translate them into a multitude of specific in-game moves.
You bring up a good point. Higher tech specs and success never had a correlation in the console industry.
360 and PS3 fans are so obsessed w/ their console's specs and arguing over which is better, that so many have become fanboys and trolls. Wii fans just laugh at them.
I mean, take this site for example. You'll very rarely see a Wii fan comment on a news story that negatively depicts the PS3 or 360, but news stories that negatively depict the Wii are wrought...
