and that's the honest truth. It takes a lot for someone to compeletly change over, you've already bought into the Xbox ecosystem, all your friends are there as well. Power isn't gonna be the thing that makes you stay or leave.
@UltimateMaster That's why I'm a bit confused as to why rendering their games at 4K is so important! Is having a game at 4K 30fps better than having it 1080P 60fps? This seems to be a sacrifice these console makers are willing to make.
Still not sure why either console makers are so hellbent of 4K gaming. I hope they don't make it mandatory. Why not focus on 1080P and use all that power for higher poly counts, more characters, more effects, bigger worlds, instead of higher resolution? I get that image quality is important, but I feel like these creators can be fully unleashed with all that power.
It would be interesting to see what the pros and cons of taking a game to 4K are vs building a game at 10...
been hearing the same thing. They seem to be using a control scheme that is different from other VR games... and it's not working out for them. I'm guessing a control scheme change will happen in the near future.
I imagined after Konami he was looking for a place that didn't impose. Basically he just wants you to trust him... an untethered Kojima, what have we gotten our selves into LOL we've opened pandora's box!
You might not like Cliff, but he knows what he's saying and I agree with him, unless Sony and MS are willing to make Neo/Scorpio exclusive games we wont see either console being utilized to its full potential. It'll be like a cross-gen game. The version on the Neo/Scorpio will be like a console game on PC today: greater image quality all around, but limited by what could be put on the consoles.
When both the Neo & Scorpio are out, it'll be a game of Chicken ...
@Tacobell323 My man tacobell... if u read what I posted, I wanted to see something, like games or a demo... I don't care about what the box looks like! What happened when Sony reveal the specs of the PS4? They showed demos and games. They showed something, even then I didn't really believe them... do u remember the Killzone tech demo for PS3?!? That's my point, I need to see something... theses are giant corporations that want to sell u products.
My guess its they've already informed devs even before this announcement, as they do with every console release/announcement... at least the bigger ones have all had projected specs to start creating engines/games. The announcement was more for the consumers, current Xbox owners and potential owners that "Hey, next year we're possibly gonna have the most powerful home console on the market. You in?"
but why would you pass up using that super fast memory? The esram was put there to help Xbox One process more. That's like having a Ferrari and not putting it into Race mode if you're ok the track. Gotta use that power!
they would have to rework the systems if they got rid of the esram in place of gddr5 memory. Switching that out means it was reworked, which means that they'd have to modify thier code. It's not as complicated, needlessly so, as the Cell processor but still a little.
But they've created software to help with that. That's why their games run on Windows 10, like you mentioned. I just think they're would be added cost to switching over to gddr5. The easiest...
agree! I don't know what happened at the original reveal.
@Septic dude, stop being so defensive and stop putting words into my mouth. I never said they would "gimp" it. I just want to see something from the new box! Tell me, what happens when Nvidia debuts a new graphics card? They give specs they show a video of what is "possible" they also give bench marks. All I said was I wanted to see something more than a video of someone telling me what it's gonna be.
Shit if I took everything Sony said as the truth ...
it could, but it wasn't done in every game... and that's the difference. The dev's had to address it, they had to make a decision to utilize it or leave it.
BTW thank you for replying and having a discussion with me. Very few people on the Internet seem to know how to have a discussion with someone, who has differing opinion, without calling them a "fanboy" or worse.
Yo @Septic did you read my comment? or did you just stop after the first few words, huh? I said "I don't doubt that they'll reach it. It jus we have seen anything yet". And like I said, tell me If I'm wrong
@Sunny_D honestly, that dudes probably been holding in a lot of pent up frustration... let him let it out. He finally get to gloat and shove it in someone else's face. Let him have his happy time.
ughh... I highly doubt they reworked how the system worked! That would mean having to recode all the games that came previously, talking about switching from ddr3 to gddr5. My guess is they may have unlocked that portion that was dedicated to Kinect and made the OS footprint even smaller.
@Septic honestly man, none are a reality. None of them showed any screen, any videos, any actual spec sheets. You got a video with some claims. Do you know how often a consoles specs have changed from announcement to release? Not saying that I don't believe that Scorpio won't reach those numbers, it's just that we haven't seen anything yet. Am I wrong?
I your excited about hardware announcements that didn't how you anything and just gave you promised specs... I'm sorry but you're either a hypocrite or a fanboy.
Here's the truth, it doesn't matter what Sony would have shown, it doesn't matter to the other guy, up there, what MS would have shown cause you both already made up your minds. Stop pretending to compare like y'all did some math in your head. They both had great conference, but you like...
People were pretty disappointed with the PS4K, even though the rumors were that you couldn't make a PS4K exclusive game. I mean we already have an article up about a "MS exec saying that it's up to the development community if they want to make exclusive Scorpio games". Even though the rumors say that Sony won't allow PS4K exclusive games, who knows really. It could happen.
I personally really don't care, I'll see how everything shakes out in ...
If the PS4 Neo is using the new AMD chips, it should be at around 5/5.5 TF (like the AMD chips are) but Sony is very conservative with clock speed, rumors are that its in the 900mhz range hence the lower TF #'s. They could always bump that up before launch but heat may become an issue. I think the bigger issue with theses consoles is their CPU, by all accounts neither are powerhouses... will that change with the new consoles? who knows.
