Jimmy Fallon looks like an idiot when he plays games. Or when he does pretty much anything. Oh well.
Sorry, I prefer Carrie.
And what. the. crap. is she wearing? lol
No more platform or gaming death articles. It's not happening.
Hi, I'm Square Enix. I put red dots in my company logo font and I haven't made a good game in 10 years.
I'm looking to continue that trend with my new mobile division.
Some say the red dots in my logo font are pockmarks and festering wounds on my reputation. I'd say they're more like beauty spots.

Game ≠ Reality
If you can't make that distinction, or you don't teach your game-playing children to make that distinction, then you're a failure at life.
Screen tearing isn't going to be affected by loading from the HDD.
Crysis was always meant to be played at or near 30 fps, because the motion blur easily makes up for a 5 or 10 fps loss or difference.
That's why the original Crysis was so playable even with hardware that couldn't beast it out. Motion blur saved the day.
Well isn't this a pleasant surprise. I'd say this is probably the closest multiplat ever!
Very well done, Crytek. I'd honestly pick the zero screen tear with a loss of a couple fps, but that's just me. The game looks and performs great on both systems.
Why don't you find counterarguments then instead of saying I'm full of shit? I spent the time researching what I just said. I don't just crap onto a keyboard and hit enter.
Remember to keep all arguments limited to the console version of CryEngine 3. The PC version is outside the realm of this discussion, yet people still continue to bring in the PC version of the engine in comparison to Killzone 3, which is just unfair.
Nothing is dying.
Red Faction 1 had destruction on PS2, does that mean it's more advanced than the engine in Killzone 3? No.
Doesn't matter what CryEngine 3 is capable of, it's about the CONSOLE experience, hoops, not on PC.
There are MANY, MANY lacking shadows in Crysis 2 on consoles. Look in my comments, the pic is in one of my posts. I'll take a bit of precomputed lighting and mixed real-time instead of all real-time with a bunch of missing shadows.

Anyone who believes that CryEngine on consoles is the most advanced piece of tech out there is a FOOL and a LEMMING.
Killzone's engine is far more technologically advanced. Many objects in Crysis 2 don't even cast shadows, whereas everything in Killzone does, in addition to shadows cast by objects hit by your muzzle flash.
How do people not notice these things? Oh that's right, because they probably own just a 360 and they want to be able to claim...
Sorry, the PS3 and 360 don't come close to PC level graphics. Lower resolution textures, short view distance, lesser quality AA, lower frame rate, lower polygon count, reduced animation, lower quality lighting, compressed sound, etc etc.
The next generation will determine whether consoles will be able to keep up with PCs or not.
This generation lost that battle years ago.
I'm not delusional about this. I've owned a PS3, 360, and P...
Don't put periods in headlines, dude. That's just ugly.
Regarding the actual article...I believe the industry is plenty behind mobile games and progressive coverage is out there.
There are TONS of sites springing up everywhere and even some long-running and well-known sites that are focused on mobile gaming and exposure for indie devs.

"The Gears of War games are the only console TPS series that I really enjoy"
That's good for you, albeit a bit unfortunate. Now excuse me while I go enjoy the much higher quality shooter games available for all systems currently on the market.
"Wow, looks no different than the PC version!!!"
Now, that's a farce. An all-around, bonafide farce. Don't kid yourself, pal! Come back from that ledge! Don't jump! NO! Don't ju...aww, man he jumped.
Crysis 2 on consoles does not look better than Killzone 3. Crysis 2 lacks all kinds of environmental shadowing from dynamic light sources in comparison to the PC version, which, after seeing the much better looking PC version in action, is quite a glaring omission in the console version.
Killzone 3's deferred lighting alone is more technically advanced than Crysis 2 on consoles.

Thanks Red Bull! I'll totally play this game and never, ever buy any of your products.
That's nasty.
