Just because other industries, media or politics have their bad apples doesn't mean companies or individuals in and of the game industry are somehow above reproach.

40,000 dollars barely pays for a year at a decent University in Chicago. That includes room / board.
It's amazing that it costs around 80,000 to 100,000 dollars for a good 4-year education in America, at a University that has even the slightest reputation. Just freaking ridiculous. I think we, as a nation, would be more apt to pursue higher education if it didn't drain us of money slowly for the rest of our lives. Ya know? Maybe if students weren't so damned depre...

The only problem with using metacritic as a comparison point is that the scores are based on a weighted system.
From metacritic's own description of its rating system:
"We carefully curate a large group of the world’s most respected critics, assign scores to their reviews, and apply a weighted average to summarize the range of their opinions."
Video game music is some of the highest quality music out there, especially the compositions by Michael Giacchino (Medal of Honor), Harry Gregson-Williams (Metal Gear Solid), Jeremy Soule (Elder Scrolls and Guild Wars) and Greg Edmonson (Uncharted). You can't deny the skills of these guys.
At least someone outside the game industry recognized Giacchino's talent. He's composing for large-budget films now. He did the score for UP, which won him an Academy Award!
Very few people I know use the Wii on their HDTV. The majority have their 360 or PS3 on the HDTV and the Wii in another room of their house, typically hooked up to the oldest TV they have.
This is why I am done with this generation, unless it's a console exclusive that is particularly promising.
One day, we the consumers will get to buy a console that has:
- A decent amount of RAM (4GB+)
- A high-end GPU
- A processor that's easy to program for
- Lots of overall system bandwidth to play around with
Hard thing to accomplish? Well sure, but at least you know what you need:
- Good actors with good voices
- Good mo-cap or animation
- Good writing

In regards to number 1:
Everyone has a friend that can build a computer. I haven't met one person in my life that hasn't had some sort of PC guy / gal friend. And that's true of any place I've been, whether it be California, Illinois, England, Florida, Wisconsin...everyone I've met knows at least SOMEBODY that knows how to put together a PC.

Don't you dare. Those systems are the biggest ripoffs on the internet, apart from Nigerian prince email scams.
Why would a video card manufacturer approve any video card that shoots hot air into the case? Why don't all video cards have dual-slot setups with the fan on the END of the card that draws air from the inside of the case and blows it out, cooling not only the vid card but the rest of the system as well?
Why do some cards have a mid-set fan? What is the point of that? It's extremely inefficient.
