Universal games and apps are coming to phones, so they don't need to. Xbox Live integration is also coming to Ios, Android as well as already being on Windows Phone.
Handhelds have no future, smart phones took that part of the industry over.

Not being bundled isn't a big issue in my opinion. Consoles only come with one controller but you still see games with local multiplayer. As long as consumers can get their hands on peripherals developers can make games for them. Kinect is still available to everyone that wants it.
Then stop giving them exposure lol.
The problem Microsoft faces is that they have a big vision for the future but consumers are mostly stuck in the past. Unfortunately even if their vision is the correct vision, it is reliant on Consumers buying into it. The best way to go about it is to try to appease everyone. Offer the future, but also offer ways for people to keep living in the past.
With Kinect I think this will work just fine, after all, the X1 works great regardless of the input you use. For Digital Mark...

Curious to see the throughput you can get with USB3 and an SSD drive. Technically no bottlenecks based on the tech but it all depends on the drivers. Could be a boost to use external SSD drive for games for loading times. Which is by far my biggest gripe with next gen. No way in hell I would build a gaming machine without an SSD drive and Micrsoft and Sony both used old slow HDD's in the next gen.. UGH.
Definitely possible, almost all consoles sales come in the holiday quarter. Depends on what games they have coming out to push those holidays though. Looks like both Halo 5 and Uncharted will be 2015 releases.
