30fps? ugh. Getting really tired of this. Kind of funny that IOS and Windows Phones guidelines basically force 60fps for a good gaming experience while next gen consoles let it slide.
This was my game of the year before Super Time Force came out but now I can't decide. It is definitely between Child of Light and Super Time Force though!
Child of Light has such a unique storybook feel and the battle system on hard is really amazing. Best JRPG I have played in many years.
Everything feels a bit snappier : ). Snapped apps definitely seem to load quicker, especially internet.
I agree with Mass Effect 2! Mine would be..
Mass Effect 2
Journey
Little Big Planet
Limbo
Halo 4
Alan Wake
Bioshock Infinite
Last of Us
Half Life 2
Oblivion
Super Mario Galaxy
I might be missing something, but that is what comes to mind right now.
So far I have enjoyed Resogun. So basically I paid 50 dollars for a 15 dollar game :D. That is ok though, I know more games will eventually come. I hope.
Lol, why are they comparing a CGI trailer to gameplay :D
I wish that was true, I don't want them to go bankrupt, but the math definitely shows both of them going under. Nintendo if they post similar year over year will be bankrupt in 5 to 6 years. Sony will be bankrupt in 2 to 3 years. Of course this is based on their current trends, no reason they can't turn this around but both are in desperate need to do so.
Microsoft is not in any danger at all. They are still posting very strong profits. There are a couple of investors...
Crazy! I hope they don't screw up Twitch haha.
It is definitely evolving quickly, been great to see/experience. Can't wait to where they take it next!
So true.. Megaman, Bionic Commando, Dino Crisis, Resident Evil were so amazing back in the day. They need to get back to making fun games.
Announce Uncharted 4, free with PS+ and release it during the conference for everyone to download.
Looks good, can't wait to see the real reviews.
Not worried about Xbox, Microsoft is doing well financially. Sony and Nintendo though are on a course for bankruptcy : (. I hope they survive.
Personally not a fan of RTS, but diversity is always good.
I hope so, Red Dead Redemption is one of my favorites of all time. Probably the buggiest game I ever played but it was worth every bug :D
Awesome tech demo but it wasn't really a game I enjoyed playing. The ideas of the powers were awesome, but the actual gameplay felt really stiff. I never felt like I was one with the character, constantly fighting the control mechanics. I also hated that soaking up the powers was tied to pressing the touchpad. I have really small hands and reaching it requires me to reposition my hands. Probably not an issue for most people but it drove me crazy. The characters were also really shallow an...
Yeah, definitely ideal to have all the data in RAM. Only issue is the initial loading time to get it there. Copying 2GB to memory from these slow Hard Drives takes some time. Streaming the data will improve the loading times but make your code much more complex. If only they would have put in SSD drives with SATA3. USB3 drives might be a workaround if they allow all the apps and games to run off of an external drive since USB3 is significantly faster than SATA2.
For compariso...
True, plus games like Max: Curse of Brotherhood, Spartan Assualt, LocoCycle, Powerstar Golf and Peggle 2 while not actually Indie games are priced in the same range and in some cases really great quality. Not to mention Super Time Force might be the greatest bullet hell game ever created : )
Storing the game in RAM is definitely ideal since you have fast access to all the resources as you need them but the problem is loading 8GB of data from the hard drive is what creates terrible load times especially since the X1 and PS4's hard drives are horribly slow to begin with. 8GB of RAM might not be enough, but these slow hard drives definitely have to go. And no, replacing the drives with SSD drives isn't the answer, because these companies put in SATA2 instead of SATA3.. : (. ...
As long as there are machines that interpret code, there will be video games. The cheese might be moving to PC/Tablets/Mobile but it isn't going away.
If you account for mobile games, the gaming industry is actually at an all time high. It is just an evolving market and the primary focus is shifting.
