@joeorc Wrong! The is case law that prevents Nintendo for desist order.
First, one would have to ignore the simple fact if this were a copyright or trademark issue that Nintendo has not taken legal action against Google's multitude of emulators. Not being continuously active to protect your trademarks or copyrights the courts have continuously said owners loose those rights by previous inaction. The fact that due diligence in legal protection has not been done for oth...

"makers of Titanfall 1 think the game was very possible without the power of the cloud"
I don't know whether T1 would have been the same game. But, after playing the beta I can say it is definitely missing all the AI characters that were cloud generated in the original Titanfall. Without them running around, the game was not as fun. Perhaps that will be fixed somehow but, if the beta was any indication how the multiplayer will truly be i...
If one refuses to vote does not mean you are voting for Trump. The expectation from your own bias is if they aren't voting they were going to vote for Hillary. I am a Republican and I am not voting for Trump and I know Democrats not voting for anyone for President as well. The choice is not Trump or Hillary (or Johnson or Stein) it is not to vote, vote of concious. Because like my Democrat friends I am definitely not voting for someone like Hillary that has had 40 years to prove her...
This is good example of why places like Metacritic need to drop the outliers from their score tally. If games with 100+ reviews has nothing but high scores (8,9,10) but, one or two reviews give it or a five or less those couple of reviews should be tossed. Another example is Uncharted 4, like FH3, received almost all 8,9,10's but some lone loon gave it a 4 as well. That 4 is an outlier and should not be counted. The same goes for the reverse situation. If a game is getting 4 and 5...
I agree this game looks damn good using the temporal checkerboard and any game in the future that takes advantage of this feature will pretty good as well.
But, I disagree about the Xbox upscaling. Please don't say a TV's upscaler is comparable. Just like all TV's that are HDR-10 capable are equal gaming experience, not all results from upscaling algorithms are equal experience. I have seen several sites that have done a technical breakdown of the scaling ca...
To be honest even though I want a 4KUHD drive in Scorpio (mind you I am just spit balling here) I think a good move would have two SKU's. The base Scorpio removes all disc playback drive options. no Blu-ray, no 4KUHD. I mean people here keep telling me these disc based drives are not needed anymore. The base unit would be an all digital device with a starter 1TB drive. This would help keep the cost down to meet a more palatable consumer price tag. Whereas, people like me who are willi...
WTF are you talking about Zen has not been pushed to 2018? What fan-boy site do you get your info form? Seriously, you need to try harder at making that crap up. You are literally off a whole year. Try a rumored 3 month delay for early 2017 was the rumor not 2018. The rumored delay was due to an issue for production for Zen not the chip itself. The rumor stated production would not start until the end of this year for release of the chips early 2017. It was the same rumor also implied th...
We are comparing to a machine that is not for two months to a machine that is not out for probably 14 months. These comparisons are useless. It is all talk - by one group of entrenched group against another entrenched group. No on one here has one or tried one. Other than a few members of the press (I use that term loosely) that had a few minutes of limited play time, there really isn't anything other than what Sony has said it does or doesn't do or showed in videos. In two months...
Seriously, a farming simulator mod is not as complex as even the lowliest of crappy mods I have played on Fallout. There have been mods on games on the PS4 no one is saying that they aren't possible. But, let's face it I can't think of one on those other games that has mods that aren't just made up of itsy-bitsy things. Are there silly-itsy-bitsy mods for Fallout 4? Sure! But, there are many mods for Fallout 4 that are quite extensive, requiring a great deal of resources (mo...
@JohnnyUnanus If only that were true. Yes, being "blue-vester" is his dream job. After getting kicked out of Hamburger University (couldn't master French fry 101 and was found stealing all the secret sauce) he is now on the wait list at the College of Greeting of the Greater Midwest Region. Hoping to graduate and be a greeter at a glorious Walmart entrance. He dares to dream the greatest dream: to one day to move onward and up to sales associate - forever wandering the white...
Seriously deflection is the fan boy answer to a question. If you want to get into a debate about what things are missing on each system start another thread of your own and I will meet your there. I personally could name a dozen features off the top of my head that the Xbox One has or does a hell of lot better than the PS4. And I could name just as many things that my PS4 does that the Xbox One does not or not as well.
I know this is N4G but, there are plenty of "Fac...
Sorry, but yeah I am waiting for Scorpio. I was planning on getting the Pro and passing-on my current PS4 to fiancés nephew, That is not happening now. I am probably going to go buy a Slim and give him my Xbox instead.
First, Sony's has had a confusing message all which has disappointed me. I didn't expect it to be this 4K gaming machine, that would be foolish. But, the wish washy way Sony has mixed their message seems to be all over the map and confused...
I don't see Sony pulling an console announcement E3 2018 at 18 months ahead release like Microsoft did. That would totally kill sales of PS4/PS4Pro. Microsoft took a risk announcing that early. And probably because they new what Sony had in store with the Pro and was confident enough in their plans. Plus, they had nothing to lose. But, Sony would definitely not want to leave that much space between announcing and releasing. They will most likely follow the standard pattern of E3 2019 ...
Yet, Sony chose Pro which does not describe this machine either. Anybody, that wants a Pro machine should be type of person looking and be willing to pay more for those things that Sony skimped out on with their lame excuses. It should have been named the PS4 Semi-Pro.
Yes seriously. The reason a console has always performed better for it's price is that consoles have always been locked down on the specs. This locked down has been great for realizing better games in less power. As you stated the PC has thousands of combinations (actually millions) that developers must deal with. The PC ecosystem has built this into development equation. They know that expected power need and system variability is part of that process. All will be built around that...
You had me agreeing initially with "their are a lot of annoying people." But, lost me on the analogy by your own bias. There are plenty of intelligent religious minded people that could have a great conversation with Dawkins and have done so. If you have read Dawkins some of his pieces go of the rails as well. Those that take religious to extreme views aren't by any means the only, as you say, "nuts". There are plenty of atheists that a just plain wacko-doodles. I...
Why would "No 4K BluRay" be a check in the positive column? You couldn't have actually wanted this from not happening. I can understand not caring one way of the other. But, the Pro not having one I doubt it was something you were rooting for. I take that back I can see you now on the Pro announcement : "Yeah it doesn't have a 4KBluRay player. Thank god! Having one in a $399 console would have ruined the devices experience for me."
@gangsta_red "Sony knows that streaming is the future"
Isn't that one of the issues people had with Microsoft with them pushing that digital device mantra on the Xbox One several years ago? How is it now so OK with Sony seeming to do the same thing? Secondly, with Sony not including the player (and thus not increasing the need for 4KUHD use like PS3 & BluRay) dooming needed boost in sales of 4K TVs from their electronics division and 4K movies discs f...
Actually the most used feature in terms of hours spent on both systems (for consumers - not fanboys here apparently) on both the PS and Xbox devices is Netflix and other media playback (like BluRay) and is not gaming.
