@Utalkin2me "is not even remotely enough material for 4k in any format to justify a TV purchase even if it is cheap. "
You are crazy. Sony needs to get as many devices out there that can play 4K as possible. This PS4 Slim should have supported 4K with a player like the Xbox One S. Not just what now appears to Neo only feature. The more 4K players out there = the more likely people will buy a 4K TV if they don't have one. The more 4K players also means...
@ BakPAin7h "Scuf and MS collaborated to make the Xbox Elite controller."
Wrong!
I swear people at this site either don't know how to read or make something up. Scuf had nothing to do with the Elite. Well maybe Microsoft engineers may have been inspired by Scuf but, they were not part of the original Elite controller development. There was no collaboration between the two companies.
@iceman06 I agree it is all about proportions. First be exact the gap of 3-5 times can be broad and seems like a number you picked out of thin air or repeat from a story you read. Those aren't the true numbers. For example, 3 to 5 can mean if 5 white people are killed anywhere from 15 to 25 black people would be killed. That means you have possible 66% increase from 3 to 5. Your data is even more suspect to breed a false narrative because it does note the crime rate among blacks compa...
That is the original game install size plus his own estimation for unknown entities (DLC and assets). This is not the official number from 2K. He just adds up the install space requirements of the each original (Xbox 360 or Xbox One) games themselves. Then adds a little more for all additional original game DLC that is also included. And finally seems to assume several more GB for the upgraded assets. That is how he came to 70GB. The official install size could be a lot less or even mor...
Run for the hills the resurgence of computer gaming is doomed because of No Man's Sky. My oh my, what are we all to do? I am so confused, should I through my gaming rig out or not?
Please, this is one game that failed to launch correctly. No one thinks a silly game like NMS, other than this "Chicken Little" author, has doomed (I am sorry left a large dent in) this computer gaming resurgence he spoke of. More games launch without incident (from crappy games ...
Everybody talks about the backlash Microsoft got because of the DRM and always on controversies (I personally love the Kinect but, that is me). I can tell you (IMO) that be nothing like the backlash against Sony if they announced a new system in 2017 for 2018. Heck imagine then the rumors start in 2018 about Scorpio 2 for 2019. I don't think either one of these companies are foolish enough to think 2 years is a good breaking point for another release. Sony is kind of pushing it this t...
You read the article right or were you taking a 15 minute break playing COD?
They study stated it found non-violent games raised a persons score. I assume they left off games with violence in their findings because it did not meet their (designed) answer to their question.
This study kind of reminds me of one that sounds impressive but, when broken down it wasn't really true. You remember the study/poll where it found more than 50% of gamers were wo...
@King_Lothric That is the one thing that confuses me about this whole Neo & Scorpio debate. The Scorpio is the next generation and Neo is just an extension of the current PS4. I see nothing in the way Microsoft is positioning Scorpio other than saying it will be the most powerful console built. They not are positioning it as the next gen for Xbox. Isn't Neo going to be the most powerful console ever built for the next year?
@dirkdady Ignoring the PS4 fanboy about Sony. The health beyond PS4 is at an issue with Sony from an investor perspective.
First you need to look at the overall picture. Revenue is not profits. In Sony's case revenue may show overall popularity for product in relation to competitors it does not however necessarily mean a healthily strong entity. Profits from that high revenue must be strong as well. Beyond PS4 which is doing very well (representing 78% of all profi...
@ShadowKnight & @RosweeSon1 I would not rely on Hollywood for riches. That is a mistake. Let's take Sony as an example. Last summer Q3 2015 (the most important part of the year for film profits) Sony Pictures raked in 1.7 billion in revenue. That is a heck of a lot of money for four months. Unfortunately, according to their own financials that 1.7 billion in revenue only made Sony Pictures $51 million in profits. No, I am not missing a zero they only made $51 million in profi...
Why? Is there some reason that the Windows store should be held to different standards then the Apple or Google app stores? Google Play has at least 5 Nintendo 64 emulators in the store.
Having ROMS may break laws. The actual emulator itself doesn't break any laws. It would be like taking down music players because someone may be using them play illegal obtained songs. By the way, there are actual ROMS that have been released into the public domain.
Funny, someone uses Google to look up privacy issues. If you do the same thing using Google for Google Privacy issues you get a return of 109 million. Android returns almost 24 million hits as well. Apple iPhone returns almost 29 million.
What is the point? You got it, there is none.
Posting a number with no exact reference to some generic term has no basis for anything. In fact if privacy was an issue for using the internet...
@The_Infected
"HDMI 1.4 is limited to 24fps if I'm not mistaken. HDMI 2.0 supports up to 60fps and also has other advantages like being able to do 4K video at 10-bit and 12-bit colour depths. With HDMI 1.4 it is limited to 8-bit."
He presents the actual facts and people down vote him? Nothing he says is incorrect. OK, yeah you can possibly get 4K 30fps but not with any high bandwidth source - perhaps with one of those fire log / fish bowl videos y...
Full backward compatibility? The Xbox One S is for all intent purposes is the exact same CPU/GPU as the current Xbox One (internally the CPU/GPU may be newer silicon but, it is not faster & not more powerful), There are some newer updated video output components (most notably 4K HDR BluRay). That said , there is no backwards compatibility issues in relation to the current Xbox One because there is no backwards . All games play the same way as the Xbox One Original.
So you think they are going to bring out two boxes, each more powerful then the current PS4?
Yeah, I can't see that awesome plan having issues. /s
It be one thing if they update the current PS4 with a new model (slim or not) that, like the Xbox One S, has 4K video options. It is another thing completely if they also made that model a power jump along with releasing the Neo with even a bigger power jump. It just wouldn't make sense.
Since we are going by list prices there are some adjustments that needed to make these workable VR bundles. For that PSVR kit it is kind of worthless without a camera. So maybe we should add $47 to PS4 bundle total. Oh, yeah don't forget to take off $50 off from the Oculus pricing. We don't need that Xbox controller that comes with the kit now.
What about audio? PSVR requires some good audio headset to get that full 3D emersion. I guess we can just go cheap ...
