@holysmokesbatman Scuf does not manufacture the Elite. Microsoft designed the Elite themselves. What Microsoft did to avoid any legal entanglements was to have a licensing agreement with Scuf. So that if the Elite did invade on possible Scuf patent issue or two, such issues would be protected under the licensing agreement. I believe Scuf owns the patent on the rear mounted control paddles (either the implementation or a specific type of mechanism but, they do have a patent for those type o...
Yes you can. Just change settings "Default location for programs". All store apps/games will then default to that location. Change it back when you are done or want to use the C drive as the default.
How to:
* Go to settings (quick key Windows key + I)
* Go to system area
* Go to storage
* Select Programs under the Save locations area. The drop down will give you a list of locations of all attached drives/partitions
@kraenk12, @DarkHeroZX they didn't push Blu-Ray on the PS3 for game storage as the primary reason, that is just BS. They pushed because they were a heavy backer in Blu-Ray. At the time Blu-Ray was competing with another HD format. Sony didn't want lose that format war and have another Betamax on their hands. They pushed it because they knew as a company they were bigger than just a gaming console company. Back then they considered the impact on their other divisions: TVs, elect...
The one true advantage Oculus has is that Facebook has money to spare and willingness to use it on Oculus. They have already put aside $250 million just for developing content and are willing to spend additional $250 million for exclusive content for it's device. I don't think Sony, Microsoft or HTC,etc.. have done anything close to this and I think they are of the mind that most of the heavy lifting in content development to be done by third parties.
Seems from what? Did you try them out yet? So far there is one big difference with these VR devices. They will have built-in inside-out tracking so there will be no need for external cameras that all the other current devices using for tracking spacial relationships. I am sure they took that tech from Hololens. This is a six-degree tracking capability (like the Oculus Santa-Cruz prototype) means the device can be a self-contained device (e.g. wireless) and no need to setup external laser...
@just_looken so does that mean the Sega Dreamcast stole it's design from the 1995 Microsoft Sidewinder game pad? The Dreamcast controller has as much design similarity with the Xbox controller today as it does with the much earlier released Sidewinder or several other devices released prior. Notice the word similarity. Yet this Switch Pro isn't just similar in some design metaphors it almost a complete rip-off of the whole design. I guess with Xbox what we consider everyday gener...
Disappointed. As part of the EA Access I downloaded the game to get my 10 hour trial. It never worked, always crashed at the load screen. Not a great first impression. Thought this update would fix that issue. It sort of did. Even though I can get past the load screen I still can't play it. Now it just says "trial expired". Yet, I haven't played one minute yet, not one second. Not a good impression so far :)
@TheUndertaker85 What studies? I can give several studies that show the opposite affects. Now I don't care what one does in their own time but, lets not ignore much more scientific studies that show the opposite of your statements.
"Our results suggest that adolescents are particularly vulnerable to develop cognitive impairment from cannabis and that the drug, far from being harmless, as many teens and even adults are coming to believe, can have severe neurotoxic...
If a story based game like Uncharted 4 can have a somewhat descent online experience why shouldn't Redemption? Of course, if it turns out to be a completely horrendous experience and in order to protect my stellar reputation I reserve the right to secretly edit this post to say "no way, what a bad idea, it will suck". :) I am hopeful until then.
Well since Overwatch is an online game that means Sony's restrictions on the PS4 Pro will not allow the online experiences to differ (at least in the FPS).
Well some people don't have a boat load of cash and Nintendo wants to remind them (no PR is bad PR) that although they aren't here this Xmas/Holiday you should save your pennies or maybe not get that PS4 or Xbox this year. Wait, we are coming in 5 months.
Why would there be storage in the home console base unit? Wouldn't that completely defeat the purpose of taking the portable unit with you to play those digital games? "Whoops forgot to transfer over the data" would become a common issue if digital game storage is not in the main unit. Didn't Nintendo (a rep from them) essentially say that the base device is just for charging, providing hooks to external displays, possibly USB or (my thinking here) links other devices (e....
Thank god Michael Pachter chimed in. I was totaled worried that without his 50-50 prediction that it would "maybe" not (maybe would) come to the PC. A monkey throwing crap on a wall can give better business predictions than this guy does.
First not the place to talk about this but, since you are we can say BS to that Mark Cerny is a genius crap. Smart guy but none of this this tech was created by him. TFLOPS: that 8.4 you quote is splitting 64 into 2 32bit ops. It would be like taking one Dwayne Johnson and making him into two Kevin Harts. Dwayne still beats two Kevin's into a pulp anyday. It has function but not the golden rod of making it truly 8.4TFLOPS by any means. This all has been done by AMD (not Markie boy...
That spacing is probably exactly the same size as when attached to the portable console. You know why they did that right? It is so when you hook them up to the portable the experience doesn't change. People get used to how things are placed and moving them off even a fraction would make things off putting.
Edit: Looked pictures again with the controller by itself vs attached to the display. Not quite the same size. So, you can ignore my reasoning :) My stairs exa...
@MrBrofist Mario could, should, will probably be available at around launch. If Nintendo was going to be smart it would also make sense not to release a console in the Spring but, they seem to be willing to do that. So all bets are off on that "worried about a holiday release" logic. The holiday's is a lifetime away from March 2017 for their biggest IP not to have a new game available on the Switch (expect a new Mario game on launch with a special holiday bundle to follow in N...
Agreed. Although, I do have both an Xbox One and PS4 and in those games when the X1 may be at 900p there really is no discernable difference (unless take a screen capture and blow it up) compared to that same game at 1080 on my PS4. So I wouldn't mind it at 900p if the graphics fidelity and FPS were strong. But, definitely not at 720 on the TV that would be a death sentence, maybe not for Mario, but for all those third party games we want to see.
@ jmc8888 I up voted you but you made one common mistake that I think I should point out. The list of power of devices is a little off. PC's have no clear defined power set and you assumption of them all being X more powerful then other devices is wrong. Here is the true power by the end of 2017, in descending order:
1. PC version
2. Scorpio Version
3. PC version
4. PS4 Pro Version
5. PC version
6. PS4 Version
...
Oh yeah it supports UE4. Why people keep saying that like it magical makes the games X more powerful. I don' think it means it will have Fallout and Battlefield and 4K games. UE4 is toolset, nothing more. Just like anything else you need the power to drive things. And that power range to do it, like any toolset, runs the gamut. Let me say it this way tablets and phones that are several years old and my old Pentium I have stuffed in the attic all have UE4 support, so what? Does that me...
