PSNow used to be everywhere now just PS4 and PCs'. It is has been terminated on everything else, no more PS3, no more PSVita, no more tablets, no more smart TV's, BluRay players, etc... So not exactly the same as Netflix's idea of being everywhere.
@TonyFoxx I don't remember a President being impeached for cheating. Is that what they teach in school or did you come up with that on your own? He was impeached for lying to federal investigator, perjury and one count of obstruction of justice. It is called High crimes and Misdemeanors (Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution) not High Crimes, Misdemeanors and getting a BJ from an intern in a blue dress.
No they are server farms. These systems are emulated. They don't have 100,000+ PS3 or PS4's sitting there. They have scaling virtualized farm of consoles that are auto scaled within that server farm. It would be much to expensive to do it otherwise. They don't house a thousands of PS3's with x amount games in one place and another group of tens of thousands of real PS3's with y amount games installed. 450+ games are a...
So that makes them 6 years older than you. Good to know.
Sorry to tell you most good games (first party or not) value lasts about 6 months after release. Double that with a good online presence (e.g. Battlefield) But, definitely not years. Do I expect to see Horizon dawn on the system in 6 months, no. But, within the year yes. It brings value to the service. I do expect to see Uncharted 4 ...
That is the weirdest thing it does not explain why the other devices are removed. It is not like a streamed PS4 game takes any more power to run than it does to run a 12 year old PS3 game. It may require more internet resources but, not device resources. In fact streaming to non-dedicated devices, like smart TV's and tablets, and maybe Roku apps are what makes streaming a more viable option over Microsoft's download run local option. They could supply entertainment options where M...
If they do that than this service will have no value. Not saying they will be released the same day but, it definitely won't be years. For example, what value is Uncharted 4 9 months after it's released to Sony's bottom line sales today? If it came to PSNow at this point I am sure it would drive many people to at least buy the service for a month or two. So yeah a releasing a game to PSNow a couple years later would make no sense for this service. However, adding games arou...
That story got it wrong. Nowhere did Microsoft say it would be available outside of Xbox One consoles. The story itself was updated to say:
"An earlier version of this story stated Xbox Game Pass would be available on PC, however a Microsoft spokesperson has clarified that it is only available on Xbox One"
I noticed them last night as part of the GP beta and was really excited to start playing the remastered Bioshock I & II again (originally played on PC years ago.) However, as of this morning you could only view them in the catalog not download the actual games. Hopefully, this will have changed by the time I get back from work.
This service is going to be great deal for several of my friends who weren't into gaming in last 10 years but, now have young kids and more...
Gentle? Have actually ever played a game video game before? People get enthused and excited, twist and turn their bodies along with screens action (portable or not). Plus, if they want to sell this to families with children it better handle anything beyond the gentle cycle. Devices, especially ones that will be portable should be designed for expectations that they are mobile and not stationary sitting on a shelf separate from the pounding of controllers and life outside the TV room. Doing...
I agree it was expected, like it should have been from Sony with Pro from the start, that Scorpio should "boost" games. One should note that isn't about just filling gaps in frame losses but taking advantage of assets with how game designed to use 4K assets is reflected back on a lower 1080:
"Games that sport True 4K assets will also enjoy graphics enhancements on 1080p displays, thanks to the console's supersampling technology.
@zivtheawesome It is like people are to lazy to read the article and just do comments for comments sake. I guess that is par for the course at N4G. Please read the article and than discuss with some understanding of what I said rather than your current biases.
Did you even read the article or did you just do your normal comment off the title of the article? I haven't seen an immediate change out of the box for the PS4 Pro on a 1080 (I guess it wasn't so obvious to expect it from Sony right?) In fact all things are essentially normal for unpatched game. Heck even patched games don't necessarily give any advantage to 1080 games on a Pro. This story is not about a "boost" mode game switch like provided with the Sony PS4 Pro.

Not to be a pisser but, most games are developed with high-end assets and scaled down. You don't think all those great trailers are created with different assets, same original assets used at a different level. Whether they invest in doing full 4K, I agree, that is another matter. So the caveat is if the transition from a 4K enabled game on Windows (the platform most games are developed on) to the Xbox easy process than more times than not I think it will happen. This is especially true...
Well they kind of are now both the same - subscription rental services. The main differences is the delivery mechanism of the games and one service provides current generation content. Your argument would have more teeth if Sony hadn't recently dropped all support of all other device support (save PS4 and PC). Dropping support for the devices, like a smart TV & Blu-ray players. PS Vita, PS3, etc..., essentially makes rental service for PS3 games on PS4. So yeah they are the same e...
So by announcing a PS5 (2 1/2 years early) what you are saying is you want Sony to destroy any possible need for purchasing a Pro. It may not affect the base PS4 too much but, it would be on peoples mind if purchasing a device now would be relegated to the scrap heap in a few years. That is why officially announcing something around a few months before is the norm for any product.
Thank god people here aren't involved with the actual operations of Sony. It would be one...
Seriously? That is one of the most insanely doltish comments I have seen. We don't even know if Ryzen will be the basis for the Scorpio CPU. However, assuming it is, it would be like comparing a small sedan, like a Civic (Jaguar chipset in the Pro) to a any real sports car, Porsche, Ferrari, etc.. (the Ryzen CPU). Just because the Ryzen in some tests (mostly artificial and because the software has not been built using tools for Ryzen) do not show it keeping up to an high-end intel CPU...
@stuna >> "What would you be saying if Zelda had outsold Horizon!?"
The same thing if the Alamo's 200 defenders had actually beat the 3,000+ Mexican soldiers. "Holy $hit, how did they do that?" Point being overwhelming numbers don't necessarily get the same celebratory (historical) credit as an upset by a much weaker (smaller opponent) would have caused.
Side note. I have started to hear murmurings from Switch fans, &...
